So whats the real scoop on Swamp Thing and Man-Thing? What exactly happened there?

It's somewhat close to a Dennis the Menace situation, they were published only two months apart. Probably both were borrowing from the late '40s character The Heap

Idk but I feel like he's kinda underwhelming (in game)

Infinite achieved, much earlier this month than usual.

44,778 infinite rank

Mostly alternated between a Thanos Control deck and an Elsa Move deck. Thanos Control is pretty silly because you can regularly lock a lane on turn 4 with Prof X through either Psylocke or Time Stone on 3. Then you can usually get priority by turn 6 to play Alioth.

I started Deadpool emoting people when they lose 8 cubes to an obvious turn 6 Alioth. I get the hate for the card but that's honestly on you if I have priority on turn 6 and only 1 lane matters.

Legion was the MVP in the Elsa Move deck. One game I played Legion on Death's Domain and the guy stayed in because he thought it would be a tie but I had Doom to win it. And of course multiple 8 cube wins by playing Legion to kill Limbo.

(I drew him with Helicarrier in a discard deck probably the only time we'll ever see him be a game winner)

He used to be a 2/3 in the beta if you can believe that. He was pretty OP as a 2/9 lol

Honestly that feels like the way to fix him he slots a little awkwardly as a 4. Make him a 3/3 or even a 3/2 and he'd maybe be a pretty strong guy. (And he'd be in proper X-Men theme with 3 cost)

Actually 1/2 with +4 power on empty hand would probably be most interesting but I digress.

Not super interesting but seeing actual Apocalypse beat Dracula eating Apocalypse makes me happy.

What are you supposed to do with Man-Thing? Play your early-game cards in 2 lanes and then drop him on the third? Play him on the lane where your opponent put their early drops? Does anything other than that side-switching 3/-3 synergize with him? Super weird, not a fan tbqh

Luke Cage stops your cards from getting their power lowered. You can flood their side of the board with Debrii, Viper, and Black Widow.

So you basically force them to fill their board up with trash and then you lower all of their power with Hazmat and Man-Thing while keeping yours okay.

It's an okay deck. It's popular because people like to play annoying decks that mess with your opponent but it's not the strongest deck.

Once I started looking around I managed to put together something. I don't have Debrii or Viper so maybe I shouldn't play this deck lol. Don't know if Killmonger belongs but we'll see lol

Yeah maybe try Wong over Killmonger if you have him. You don't really want to be killing stuff for your opponent because the goal is trying to flood your opponent's lanes.

You can Wong+Hazmat on turn 6 and lower all of your opponent's cards by 2 power which is pretty good.

But yeah it's going to be a little tough without Viper or Debrii. You could run Green Goblin too.

No Wong unfortunately. I put in a Shang Chi over Killmonger and Sunspot over Elektra because I wantto be destroying big things not small things

No Green Goblin either, I definitely want that card in my deck

Deadpool can get so stupid high when someone actually stays in a match that has Shuris Lab. Got mine up to 192 before my opponent retreated and I still had 2 turns left to boost him more

Grapple Venomized Silk skin with my gold. Have not seen a single Black Knight yet

black knight is, imo, an especially bad purchase if you're not a streamer/whale since you can just wait till december to get selene, him, and lady deathstrike in the same spotlight week

unless you really need modok or stature (who is bad cause of mobius) right now i guess

Yeah Black Knight is too boring of a card to justify using caches. Especially when he's paired with Modok and Stature who have been featured too many times.

And especially especially because he's back in December in a better spotlight cache with Selene and Lady Deathstroke.

I can't remember who posted the Collector discard deck but I threw some changes into it after finally getting Silver Samurai and have gotten a few games like this and they are great.

This is what it looks like right now but I am considering switching Dracula out for Absorbing Man just for extra Gambits/MODOKs.

Yeah that's a variant on my deck. I definitely think Dracula is the guy to drop if you want to try absorbing man. At least the way I play it he's pretty likely to get a swarm.

That's the thing there are many times when even if I can drop a bunch of my swarms I still have some in my hand for him to grab.

Yeah play it by ear

Basically with the way I play the deck I was hitting turn 6 that is either.

MODOK + Swarms
Apocalypse + Swarms

The former is often weaker if you dump every swarm. The latter you're dumping Apocalypse so Drac can't eat him. Option C is a bunch of random Loki/Helicarrier stuff which Dracula is also not useful usually

But if he's working he's a very good card. Just be aware you give up your turn 4 play for him so even though he works with Apoc he might not be worth burning turn 4 if he's not always working

Yea definitely I'd much rather Wong 4 and Mystique/Morbius 5 with MODOK 6 than use Drac 4.

Yeah. The way I see it you want turn 4 for Samurai or Wong. Hard to play Dracula. Wong into Samurai tends to be super disruptive turn 5 too.

Also Drac screws up Silver Samurai. Then again so does Mystique. Again just play it out but try to remember when you chose to play Dracula and when you chose to let him sit there.

My favorite thing about this deck is when people blow their load too early and Enchantress or Rouge my Morbius on the same turn I'm playing Wong in another lane lol

Kinda blown away at the amount of people who still concede in Infinite rank instead of just letting games play out. Don't you get more boosters if a game plays out completely?

We're at rank 45,000. Are you seriously trying to get to top 100 or whatever that you need to concede to save fake cubes?

i think if you concede on turn 6 without playing it you'll still get the same amount of boosters. but yeah post infinite there are plenty of people still sweating. even before the infinite rank came out i got plenty of boomer snaps, emoting after they won against my booster farming deck, people playing the best deck exclusively, etc

Ego literally played every single one of my cards on Deaths Domain. What an asshole.

The AI for that kinda stuff is sometimes terrible beyond all reason. I had a similar one, but mine kept destroying my cards for +2 energy each turn leaving himself nothing to play

Yea it would be nice if Ego's AI would take into account what the optimal play was for the cards in your hand. Don't even give him knowledge of what's remaining in your deck, just make him play what makes sense in your hand at the time.

On another note, I hit 95 and dropped down to 90 like 3 or 4 times now. I sincerely think I can hit Infinite with that deck but it's a battle between how good that deck is and how bad my luck is. Lol

What are the staples in this game? Shang Chi, Iceman, Scorpion, Cosmo, Scarlet Witch, Ailoth, Killmonger, Enchantress, Nightcrawler, Sunspot, the 2-drop that gets bigger when you play another card at that location, Armor?

Ego doesn't have an AI, it is 100% random. Same for Agatha, with the exception that if she is able to play herself on any given turn she always will

I've moved on to Cerebro 5 because I love me some Man Thing and it's actually really good to the point Cerebro is almost optional lol

IIRC, the two creators were roommates and wanted to sell similar characters to each group, but really they're only visually similar. Man-Thing tends to be a much more traditional sympathetic monster, burns people afraid of him but is largely a good guy. Swamp Thing is more of an eco-warrior and his comics tend to be less horror focused(sometimes) but more about questions of humanity and identity and existential dread.

Shang Chi, Cosmo, Armor, Alioth, Killmonger, Sunspot, Jeff, Nebula, Doctor Doom, Magik, Zabu, Wong, Mystique, Death, The Infinaut.

IMO.

You guys are seeing Infinaut that much? If youre still series 2 or early in 3 I can see that but later on its not that common

I'm in the nineties and almost every game I have played has had an Infinaut

Infinaut is popular right now because of the discard missions but typically he's not really that popular

Hmm do I dare buy Pixel Jubilee. Its one of the best looking pixels in the game for whatever thats worth (the other one being Crystal)
