idk I don't think World of Warships would really be all that well balanced without the water. carriers would be OP, for one. huge nerf to subs too.

it never really bothered me much but i only beat the games once each. ruby, emerald, omega ruby. was annoying having to carry 2 HM slaves through the end game tho. have to keep a team of 5 or 6 when you're constantly having to sub out your fire/ground/rock types due to weaknesses making them not worth it unless you had blaziken then yea you'll keep it in the party but will be mostly using a 3 pokemon team or having to heal/repel a lot.

in all fairness after that point its like 70% water. Most the end game and post game involve water.

I dont mind so much myself, but I do think if youre gonna throw that much money water in you need like 2-3 new uniques per route or something to keep it interesting.

Too much water gets a bad rap for no reason despite being legitimate. They had the most water routes, the most water Pokmon compared to the rest of the dex, and with a evil team based around fire or water youre either facing too many water types or using too many for the type advantage.

That skips a lot of trainers/goodies on the routes. Also, you need surf to even get to the sixth gym.

I've been trying to say this to people for years but it's fruitless. People's heads would explode if they knew how many RPGs have shitty dungeons that you're stuck in for literal hours and don't have extremely cheap "get no encounters period" items sold at every single store. Compared to Pokemon RSE where the dreaded water segments take less than 20 seconds if you just use a repel. And a couple minutes if you don't.
