We're living in a reality where half the country was lied to in order to get them to support an agenda contrary to their interests. Now, a conman has hijacked that lie and the people who started it aren't able to stop it.

It's a forest fire. Murdoch might have started it but he can't stop it. Nobody can stop it without taking measures so drastic that they're considered unthinkable. Since we're not willing to go that far, we just have to let it run its course and burn down the forest, and pick up the pieces when it's over.

Also to add to this, 45 has less of a chance than in 2020 due to his base wanting to wear. Darwin awards and all those felonies he's facing down.

He may not even be a eligible to hold office, I hope he is blocked from being on the ballot

He lost the popular vote, and officially lost the race in 2020.

I could see some 2020 Trump voters abstaining but being very vocal about it.
Biden will likely win re-election, but barely yet again, however I'd like to think there'll be next to no dire close calls in 2024. America, the world, humanity, we just don't need that.

I'd guess two or three states more than last time.

I'm less confident than I was in 2020, probably even before Covid. Odds might be better than 2016, but maybe not.

It seemed that for people who hated both, they at least overwhelmingly preferred Biden in 2020, now I'm not so sure. I've already seen people who think Trump is the lesser of two evils.

I could see people really hammering the "Democracy is on the line" argument, which might eventually help Biden in the end.

That's not facts and reality though. That's your feelings. The only data we have shows a close match that currently slightly favors Trump. I honestly don't get what the incentive is to pretend it isn't close. People should be freaking out, not laughing about how hard he is going to lose because they want to believe voters aren't that dumb (they are).

I mean, this seems to just be cherry picking with a complete lack of consideration of error in the parameter estimate.

The important thing would be to show that in recent years, there's a bias in polling estimates. That is, error is non symmetrical. That is not, and has not, been established.
