It's not a great system we have in place. The protocol for dealing with cops and with rabid dogs is almost identical. --- He/Him http://guidesmedia.ign.com/guides/9846/images/slowpoke.gif https://i.imgur.com/M8h2ATe.png https://i.imgur.com/6ezFwG1.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

The paid leave is fair. Everyone, even cops, are innocent until proven guilty. Disagree? Let's say I work at a warehouse. I end up doing something absolutely destructive and dangerous with a forklift, even if no people are physically hurt. I am sent home from work while management reviews the security cams and decide if I'm responsible or not. While I'm home, I'm not at work. While I'm not at work, my employer isn't paying me. And when I get fired for cause (because we'll say in this hypothetical I'm actually at fault), my boss isn't going to give me a reference, and you sure as hell know (regardless of laws in place when contacting past employers) that I'll never be driving a forklift again because I'll be blacklisted. With cops? Paid vacation while it's investigated. And even if they're found liable and disciplined, it never follows them through their career or ends up in them being untouchable in the industry. They don't even have ways of tracking that in a public database (because public servants and their discipline record, especially in a position with as much power as cops, should be searchable) to make sure their next posting doesn't hire them. On top of them (sometimes) getting to keep their pension despite discharge for disciplinary actions. I don't know any other service or industry with that many protections for employees. And I've worked in some really solid union shops. It's absolutely wild. --- What has books ever teached us? -- Captain Afrohead Subject-verb agreement. -- t3h 0n3 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Not when we have video evidence of the entire act of violence. He is guilty...PERIOD. "B-b-b-b-b-b-but what happened before the video? Wonder if Tenlarr will actually explain what the f*** he meant 90% sure he was talking about the woman who had her Ring doorbell cam covered by the lady cop in the 3-minute video somewhere around... post 45? DarthAragorn posted... Remove paid leave, provide back pay if cleared of wrongdoing. This would be acceptable. But, again, no other service or industry would benefit from even this standard. It's still above and beyond in the special treatment category. Make a federal labor law, and I'll sign that in a heartbeat. Also, an additional rider that prevents eviction/foreclosure for non-payment during the investigation. Nobody should be homeless because a mistake was made at work and the incident needs to be reviewed. --- What has books ever teached us? -- Captain Afrohead Subject-verb agreement. -- t3h 0n3 ...
