I'd say to look up OP builds but I don't know if that'd help you against regular enemies.

That's not a normal enemy and it will fuck anyone's shit up

The trick is to use Pulse Armor to cancel stagger when you're close to staggering. It makes that fight way more tenable

Like the boss at the top you mean or before you enter the building.

Like the level begins and there's a chasm. I cross the chasm and destroy the turrets. I get to the wall and there's a little dude there that I can't beat because I am just bad at these games (specifically dodging attacks/knowing what is actually killing me).

I've been using my money up to this point to upgrade to the "VP armor" set, which isn't the highest defense/AP boost but it is theoretically better than the starting equipment though it has made me slightly slower.

I finally beat the door mid-boss and now I'm fighting the roof boss(?) with my AI teammate, who dips halfway through

this feels easier than the midboss since it's big and slow, but I haven't beaten it yet because I get frustrated/impatient that I'm barely doing any damage and the fight's taking too long. I died three times and the game told me to change my assembly. With what money game? I'm not grinding those old missions because they weren't fun enough.

You can sell equipment for the same price you bought it.

Pretty great patch, actually! Zimm nerfs were pretty badly needed and lots of stuff got some really great and cool buffs.

Did gatling guns get nerfed?

Also, I would replay some of the earlier missions to do a bit of grinding. A few only take 5 minutes tops and pay pretty well. Then upgrade at will. There is one mission that I can get through twice in about 5 minutes. It kinda feels soothing just flying though it lol

Nothing for the gatling guns - biggest nerfs were for the Zimms and Stun Needle. A few smaller nerfs and then a *ton* of buffs. Most easily readable version of the detailed changes that I've seen is here:
