No it doesnt. Its a space combat game, and thats ok. Trust me, Ive played it, and its good, but it has nothing to do with discussion about the RPGs Outer Worlds or Starfield other than they both have multiple planets

The Outer Worlds certainly did NOT have soul. That game was a wretched waste of time. Complete shit that only made landfall due to a hate wave over Fallout 76's disaster.

I haven't played Starfield and don't really care how badly it sucks. Do NOT come in here acting the The Outer Worlds is anything but dogshit.

I played it too. It has combat and exploration on the planets and some sort of management shit going on that I don't remember fully

I think it can be in the same conversation just because of the planet exploration and space combat shit, it's got a few similarities

It wasn't great but it was fun for a little while. I got it in a bundle with Mario VS Rabbids for twenty bucks, I was satisfied. The extra weapon shit having to be purchased was a huge bummer though

I dropped outer world around 28 hour mark. Never beat the main story. I spent most of my time collecting bits and other stuff to upgrade my sniper rifle. I eventually got bored and decided to replay new vegas cuz planet monarch in OW reminded me of the Mojave desert.

I don't know how the companions in Outer Worlds were so good, and the ones in Starfield, I struggle to find one I want to walk around with me for an extended period of time, unless they are one I found in a bar that barely speak.

I feel like Outer Worlds felt a bit more "alien" also overall, especially with the tech science gun which Starfield seems to lack any of that besides laser rifles that were in Fallout.

Still have 80 or so hours in and i'm enjoying it, but it's going to be a lot better when mods come I think.

Gartield is a top 5 manga of all time.

And the Outer Worlds is shit. Tiny planets with tiny buildings and nothing to explore with boring combat and bored NPCs who just complain about how lame the space corporations are.

Literally one single interesting quest in all of the Outer Worlds. It's the most paint by numbers shit I've ever experienced.

Look, Im not the brightest. I really shouldn't be able to plow through the game on hard mode without realizing you could upgrade your guns. So, no difficulty, no gear incentive, no interesting writing, just 2-3 alright characters floating in a void filled with the same old "wacky corporation" shtick on repeat.

You guys need to make sure the game's name isn't in the thread title for this kinda stuff. I can't help myself.

I haven't come across that one yet. But there's already been a few where there's clearly multiple possible outcomes and I'm going to enjoy going back on other playthroughs to see the differences. Like with the quest line involving the Crimson Fleet

I really enjoyed Outer Worlds. I am excited to play Outer Worlds 2 when it comes. But to me, Starfield is so much better. It isnt even close.

It is actually pretty unfair to compare them. The scale of what those two games are trying to accomplish is completely different. Outer Worlds is a bunch of small hubs-compared to Starfield it is basically on rails. Starfield is a bunch of detailed quest lines in a vast explorable universe. They are both set in space. They both have companions with quests. Other than that, the games really arent that similar.

I really like both.

Starfield has a lot more issues but it's much, much better than Outer Worlds. After the first planet you've seen everything that game has to offer. Having every single planet being the same satire of 'look at how bad unchecked capitalism is' made the game feel so repetitive.

Outer Wilds? Yeah that's better than both.

i just hope in The Outer Worlds 2: The Even Further Out Worlds, that unique weapons are actually unique and not worthless as soon as you find a generic gun 2 levels higher, and that the upgrade system isn't a broken mess that costs an exponentially absurd amount of money that never caps

They're both good :-) but I see more missed potential in The Outer Worlds actually. The first location is really great and focussed but everything from Monarch onwards feels empty and unfinished.

Starfield meanwhile I think is pretty great, but it's lacking imagination a bit compared to other Bethesda games. The lore also feels pretty undercooked. I keep trying to find out more about the religions but nobody has anything to say. "The great serpent will destroy everyone". Wanna elaborate on that? You got a history beyond the founding? Religious texts? Spiritual debates? That kind of detail is missing from every faction I think.
