Does the bullet just hang there?

The bullet stays still but you go flying backwards until you do a full lap and hit the bullet

Id wager theres not enough oxygen to cause combustion of the cartridge.

No bang.

Modern gun powder and primer caps don't need oxygen. Cartridges will fire without issue in space.

Like what would happen if you shot a gun on earth. Except it would travel further do to less atmospheric resistance.

The moon has about a sixth the gravity of earth, so the bullet will go about six times farther.

This.
Gunpowder carries its own oxygen.

Be careful to not be at a right angle to the Earth, the jacket will not disintegrate in atmosphere and will nuke a whole country

The issue wouldn't be so much the chemistry of the firing as it would be the wild temperature and atmospheric impacts on the materials of the gun itself. Like most stuff designed to be exposed to space is very specifically designed to deal with it. Which a traditional gun is not.

The surface of the moon swings between temperatures of 250 degrees to -200 degrees depending on if it's day or night. That's a lot of stress on something not built for it.

But would the bullet still have the same impact?

The Swiss have a patented alloy that allows for firearms with high temperature resistance and minimal elasticity, made specifically for their two main space programs: Keeping other countries out of of their satellite orbits, and shooting the Moon to make Swiss cheese.

Very slightly more, due to the negligible atmosphere on the moon.

Straighter than an Earth Heterosexual but less straight than a Plutonian Femboy

Straighter, due to the lower gravity.
