Note this isn't meant to crap on others, just talk about things we don't get. Most of us have at least one thing others won't get. For example on my end I have a Jeep with a Hemi. That upped the price of it by at least 3k if not more. Most people will not understand why I need a Hemi.

So the one thing that I don't get are fancy watches. Speaking about cars, some of them are worth more than my car new. And to me it's just a watch.

Like this 30 dollars watch. Would be all I need to look fancy, and in normal day my smart watch is far better then any Rolex due to it's functionality.

Watches make sense to me, if your running a business, clothes and accessories make the individual. What doesn't make sense to me is buying someone elses property if your a multimillionaire, instead of just having a house built yourself. You have enough money to buy a plot of land for significantly cheaper in like Oregon, but you choose to buy someone else's land and property in California.

We found a Ralph Lauren onesie at Goodwill and grabbed it cause it was the right size and we needed more onesies and it was like $3. Didnt realize the brand til my sister in law pointed it out so we looked it up and it sells for $45-50.

Its absolutely absurd to think someone would drop that kind of money on an item of clothing that will be outgrown in like two weeks

When it comes to most things, I can understand wanting a bit of luxury in your life. There's something very satisfying that you don't get with the cheaper versions.

I have more of an issue understanding why people pay relatively small sums for rubbish that they don't really need.

But everyone finds their own satisfaction, I guess.

You find it hard to understand why somebody might choose not to engage with the massive undertaking of having a house built (which also takes time) and would instead move into one of many existing (and ready) beautiful homes?

Expensive paintings or other decoration items. The logical extreme being when paintings auction for tens of millions.

As poor person who does that , this is one I can explain. I have issues with the world. I don't like going into . I have to for work. But when I don't have to, I try not too. Also I still work and that just sucks all my cooking energy so I just feel too bad to cook.

However I have since sucked it up since I just got sick of the upcharges. And now have found few places that have drive thru.

On positive note. I am doing more cooking at home. Since that can help me lose weight too. I found some Mash potatoes. That get done in like 3 mins. They are like flacks you add milk and water and BAM they are done.

Super yachts. Their only real purpose is as a money sink for ultra elites with more money then they genuinely know what to do with. And a means of standing out amongst each other.

The bigger the yacht you can afford the higher up the elite ladder you are. Dumb but tbh the more crap for them to spend money on the better.

After I became a father, I noticed so many parents buy super expensive things for their newborns like a fancy basinet or a swing/rocker. I'm talking about thousands of dollars, and then the babies/kids don't even use them.

I get the same thing when people on game shows say if they win theyre going to Disneyland with their 10 month old child.

Like, Im sure theyll very much appreciate the experience and treasure the memories forever. Just like a 10 year old would.

Really expensive food and drink like caviar and top notch booze. I know the money isn't an issue to them, but if I'm spending a few hundred bucks or more on something it better not be gone over the course of a dinner.

I wouldn't have much of an opinion on someone who buys something expensive but rather when someone buys something with little foundation.

The one person that buys a specific product can be much different than someone else who buys the same thing. Someone can buy it because it's their legitimate interest/hobby, or they can buy it based on outside influences and not their own. The latter is the person I despise.

A lot of things people collect.

Like why are people paying up to hundreds of thousands of dollars for a penny? Or even 500 for a dime or half dollar? Like yeah, it's neat, the history might be cool or interesting, but that much for some coins? Why not just have a coin museum these people can run or something.
