No. I'm just saying how it is. You can be left, but if the left evolves into something different, and your views stay the same, you're not really part of the core left anymore. You can still be left tho.

Praising DeSantis' Covid response is the polar opposite of insightful. That's on par with thinking Ben Shapiro has some really good insight on coastal real estate in the face of rising sea levels.

Didn't watch the interview but it makes sense why he praised it. Maher's attitude was "who cares about covid, just let people live their lives" and that's more or less what DeSantis did.

I bet Maher just sees DeSantis failing miserably, and so is platforming him so when he completely fails Maher can say it was him who exposed DeSantis and killed his chances, like when he interviewed Milo and then like 6 months later Milo got canceled with all the crazy stuff he did. Maher didn't mention any of the stuff that actually killed Milo's prominence, just that it happened after going on Maher's show.

I don't think Maher is a strong conservative by any means, we're all just really conflating being a right wing grifter with "just really wants to sound like the smartest guy in the room" and I think the latter fits with how Maher behaves more.

Yeah.

What I found insightful was when Maher asked him why he wanted to be President and the first and only response he had was that he wanted to go after the CDC for their Covid response, it showed me that he is just as obsessed with being anti-science as he is his culture wars. My opinion of him sunk even lower.

Also when asked why he was even running when he can't beat Trump, he said that he doesn't believe Trump can win a general election. I hope he's right about that.

The left can evolve, but people also change more than are willing to admit. Bill Maher's priorities have definitely changed

Pretty poor quality, however Musk gets on stage with Chappelle as a surprise and there's a mix of cheers and boos. Chappelle jokes that the people booing are all the ones he fired (this was in San Francisco) and then a little later talks about how "all the people booing are in the poor seats".
