I get wanting to record yourself to see if you want to check your form, but when you're intrusive as fuck like not letting someone use a machine close to you because "you're in my shot" then fuck you.

That's exactly what these couples were doing. Even when I tried asking how many sets they had left (they were on the machine close to 30 minutes), they refused to answer and when I told them I was going to use it anyways, the man threatened me with a "go ahead, see what happens".

So I "karen'd" their ass to the manager and, hilariously, they're not even allowed to record in the gym to begin with. All of a sudden this "alpha male" started acting like the nicest guy in the world and starting making excuses like, "well other people record themselves as well, but you don't say anything about it." and "this is how we put money on the table, we need to do this or we're going back to living on the streets." When both the couples kept refusing to stop recording and not leave the premise, the manager called the police in and arrested the both of them. Karma just feels so good.

If someone is spending more than 30 minutes on the same machine, shouldn't they let people cycle in and out? It's not their machine. A lot of gyms have limits on how much time you can spend on a machine. TC paid for his gym membership too, he should be able to do the workout he wants to do without waiting 30-60 minutes for a machine to open up because someone wants to record for TikTok.

Just my opinion, but even if it's not explicitly in the gym rules (TC may or may not know if it is for his gym), people should be courteous at a gym and not hog a machine for 30-60 minutes and refuse to let people work sets in or refuse to give an idea of how much longer you'll be on the machine. You are not the center of the universe at the gym. They apparently were breaking other rules (with the filming), so oh well for them.

I hate people who hop from machine to machine every minute.

The two worst types of gym people are the ladies who are there just get looked at and dont even really train ,and the muscleheads who slam the ****ing weights on the ground every time they lift...

Gyms should do influencer hour, so I know when not to go.

i know rite? hate when they sit on a squat rack and rest 15 mins between sets chatting with others or on the phone. I could have already done like two exercises in 15 mins.

I take it very easy at the gym since I fractured my back last year so I only use a few machines when Im there. But I have this one guy(in great shape Ill give him that) but he sets up his phone so he can post online and literally sets his phone on other machines hes not using.

Got a call from a representative of the gym, (had to re-give my side of events because police was called in) saying the couples membership has been suspended (looks like this wasn't the couples first time getting a complaint).

It was an empty cable seat (I wanted to do a neutral grip seat row because it was pull day for me) that they didn't want anyone to use because it would "get in their shot".

But you're right in that it was an asshole move for me to say I was going to use it anyways, but it was more of the principle why I did it. I didn't like these two thinking they have power over others to not use something, especially for something as stupid as because they were recording. If they either allowed for me to use the machine or at minimum told me how many sets they had I wouldn't have escalated the way I did.

In fact, the manager looked like she didn't even care when I told them they were on it for like +30minutes, she really only took action when I told her they were recording.

Yeah, the guy is right that they're not the first people to record themselves at the gym, this was just my first instance of someone being an asshole because of it.

Other than me correcting myself the couples were escorted out of the gym by the police instead of arrested, I didn't change anything.

I believe I was an asshole in that I escalated the situation. I could've just ignored them, there are always alternatives to every form of exercise (some not as good as others), but instead I chose to confront them about it and get the manager involved. Though I'm rationalizing it in my head that if it wasn't me, someone else surely would've done the same as well eventually. This apparently wasn't the first time they got a complaint.
