I've said this since the f zero 99 announcement. Why didn't they go just one gen up literally the two best are x and gx

Keep playing F-Zero 99 and we'll probably get a nice GX port.

I know there have been successors to FZero in gameplay but they lack what I like about the series the most, the huge crazy cast, cool setting and incredible soundtracks
like how attached I am to characters that have maybe 4 lines of nonsensical dialogue is a testament to the strength of the character and machine design, they all have theme songs!!! who does that?

Several of the fzero gx soundtrack are on my gym playlist including this one. Killer soundtrack in general.

The ports of multiple f zero games to the Switch expansion pack are giving me hope there will be a GX remaster/remake/new game. Not high hopes, mind you, but after years of absolute radio silence on the franchise my hopes have gone from 0.5% to maybe like 10%.

A new F-Zero would be nice, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo is going to keep putting all their racing eggs in the Mario Kart basket.

There's room for more than one racer on Nintendo's consoles. Mario Kart was always the friendlier, more accessible racer, while F-Zero - especially in the GX version - was the high-octane, teeth-grindingly difficult adrenaline rush.

Particularly in the modern era, with content creation rewarding games with a lot of spectacle and Souls-like games making punishing difficulty in vogue again, I could see F-Zero having a renaissance, if Nintendo gives it a chance.

I was discussing Fzero clones on the gamedev forum and apparently fzero GX does something unique that other similar racers don't... you can boost infinitely, ya. there's no speed cap on boosting if you can maintain energy.

Boosting has a cooldown, though - unless there's some trick of the physics I don't know about it, you can't just generate infinite speed via boosting, even if you cheated to give yourself infinite health.

The cooldown is like 1 full second, not the entire duration of a boost - you will always increase in speed

A new FZero is overdue.
