That's all Faux News is.

-talking heads smugly making shitty "I identify as an attack helicopter" level jokes for their racist, bigoted audience to guffaw at.

-man on the street segments which essentially boil down to "look at how dumb young people are".

-constant fear mongering. "Dems are comin' fer yer guns! They want to turn our kids gay/trans!"

-less Trump worship than before, but they're still defending an obviously guilty man.

-commercials for scamming old ignorant people (i.e, republicans) out of their money. Buy gold! Reverse mortgage! Mypillow! President Trump needs your donations! This coin has a flag on it, so give us money! We sell shitty coffee but we also love guns, so buy it sheep!

The last one is particularly egregious. Fox is straight up telling them "we think you're stupid enough to fall for these". Know why? Because they do fall for them.

You gotta look at this interview from a right wing perspective. To them, Seattle is obviously corrupt and burned to the ground and filled with homeless drug addicts as far as the eye can see. So when the typical Fox News audience is being presented with interviews from residents that deny those things or downplay the significance then those people look like unhinged liberals spouting crazy talk. To their target audience this is just a street interview that has a similar tone and style to that one anti-work interview a few months ago.

Reminds me of a video that went viral in my city recently, it was a dash cam video of some right winger driving through the high crime city of Madison, WI. They were driving through one of the richest parts of town past literal mansions saying things like wow it seems like such a nice normal place, wonder if the people who live here know how unsafe it is?

I went to JUCO for broadcast media courses.

These street reporters often dont agree with what theyre pushing, theyre just trying to get their foot in the door in a ridiculously hard industry to get into.

While this is hilarious, it's also dark in a way. It reveals a mindset I've seen that's very prevalent among conservatives, but also among liberals and even some of the less lefty leftists. There's so many people out there who see people living in abject poverty, on the ass end of society, absolutely downtrodden and broken, non-functional, prone to abuse etc....they see that and they think "it's an affront to me that I have to see this."

Not that it's awful and evidence of a broken society that people can be abandoned and left to rot like that. Not that things need to be reorganized so that no one can fall that far. Just that those people need to be out of their field of vision, suffering somewhere else. And very frequently, they're fine with violence, coercion, and confinement being used to achieve that.

Omaha is like the one place in Nebraska that went blue. Little Rock is blue as hell.

The only real big cities that went red are Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and even then, those were the closest places in the state in the 2020 election.

Republicans have to rely on small cities and the boonies for votes these days.
