I've been safe for the last 3 years, don't see why I should risk my life having to travel amongst these crazy people to do work that I can do just fine at home. We just had a major successful release to production a few weeks ago which includes work that I've done. They have a telework program, but one of the requirements is living 50 miles from an office. So the 2 hours+ I'll have to spend commuting amongst angry, rude, busy New Yorkers is just going to cut into the time that I could be spending collaborating with my actual teammates. <cite>2Pacavelli posted [p:976293753] in My job wan... They aren't forcing me to go back in, but one of my coworkers need assistance with their on-site work (because apparently he didn't know what he was doing) and they are now looking at surge support. I'd honestly start looking for a new job if I started to get wind that they wanted us going back in to the office more than 1-2 times a month for meetings. I've saved thousands in gas alone and I'm no longer exhausted and in a bad mood from my commute to and from work. I was leaving for work at 6:30 am to avoid as much traffic as possible and would leave work after 6:00 PM because I'd still get home around the same time as if I left at 5:00 PM because my area has been under perpetual construction for 20+ years and the traffic is a nightmare. --- "How can.. the Prime minister.. support a law.. that makes it illegal for people.. who....What I'm trying to say is.. That said, I think that's why my company isn't pressuring me into the office. There's a shortage of people who do our work. And while I haven't outright been blunt that if you call me in I'm gone, it's not exactly a secret either. So I think they are hesitant on pushing me in the office. That sucks, but I can deal with being in the office. What I can't deal with is the fact that now our parking reimbursements only cover about 60% of our parking fees, so I'm paying money to go into the office. $20 every day, and on a day that I have to head out and meet someone for an interview or do some on-site reporting, I have to go back to the office and pay another $20. To top it all off, the fucking kiosk in the garage is busted and the touch screen never works, so I get stuck in their constantly waiting for a worker to let me out. I used to not complain because I was barely in the office, but now?
