https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/21/economy/china-chip-material-exports-drop-intl-hnk/index.html

"When asked about the lack of exports last month,He Yadong, a spokesperson from Chinas commerce ministry told a press briefing Thursday that the department had received applications from companies to export the two materials. Some applications had been approved, he said, without elaborating.

"The curbs are indicative of Chinas apparent willingness to retaliate against US export controls, despite concerns about economic growth, as a tech war simmers."

Why pretend it is a moral issue and it is ok when we do it?

China gets caught spying and putting rootkits in their products. Companies in China don't actually have any rights. If(when) China asks for data from a company, they give it over no questions. They don't have to make requests like what happens in US, UK, Australia, etc. Also, China doesn't protect people's copyrights.

So when countries catch China spying on them, or stealing from them China is hit with sanctions. China then retaliates because they don't like having to play by any rules.

Now don't get it twisted, China being shitty doesn't make anyone else saints. I can't think of a country that can act holier than thou while looking like anything other than hypocrites. But Retaliatory restrictions when someone rightfully points out your issues is trash.

I thought topic was about Gallium and Germanium as in title but hey I am for what the public wants.

So private companies in China operate independently of the government. You know this. China looked around and saw how private companies mean jobs and decided China was not going to miss out.

Again it is ok when American private companies mess with people because they are private but not ok when Chinese private companies mess with people even though all China did was allow them act the way they do in capitalist countries.

I mean, nothing in your post is accurate.

Private companies do not operate independently. This isn't just well known. It's part of the law there. Golden Shares have Xi putting his people on boards and the law says that every "private" company has to comply and give any and all data that the government wants. That's why Australia, Japan, and the like have trade trepidations with China.

China doesn't have any tech they can hold back that anyone would want, so China responds by limiting exports. It's going to go poorly for them the same way these restrictions and retaliations always go. Propping up to Russia and being unfriendly to international businesses is not a smart way to work on the world stage. Especially when your best attribute is cheap labor, that can be had elsewhere.

Playing chicken with China while they're investing in Russia is the right move.

Pretty sure it is as close to reality as yours and as well founded. 70% of all Republicans say the election was stolen according to AP news.

Are you not aware of China's policies, China's ownership of shares and seats on boards of major corporations, and the law that any and all companies and people's in the country of China must comply without any resistance to any intelligence request?

http://www.npc.gov.cn/npc/xinwen/2017-06/27/content_2024529.htm

Again, it's their law. Written in black and white. This isn't some random lies that Republicans believe. It's Chinese law from Xi. If you don't want to discuss things rationally I don't see the point of continuing.
