It was trash

Great game. Its only hard in the beginning on the highest difficulty setting. After that, it evens out a bit and becomes manageable.

Looks fun, haven't gotten to try it yet.

combat is whatever because smt combat is whatever and easy if you know what you're doing

the series always had level scaling but it feels particularly bad in this game. performance is awful and the writing sucks but exploration is mostly fun

I got to the last world and lost all motivation to finish it for some reason. Short hair girl with the glasses is best waifu.

I dunno what they did with the writing staff but it's pretty clear the original writers that made the PS2/DS era so good are mostly gone. They even almost ruined Strange Journey by giving every route a "true ending" which gets rid of all the consequences that you were supposed to come to terms with throughout the game.

SMTV has almost none of that. None of the sides look particularly convincing in their endeavor. All that can really be said is that Mao gets cool by the end, and I like what they did with the fairy like girl who follows you around.

But I think it's one of the best SMT in terms of exploration and combat. There are a lot of really fun fights and pretty ambitious world. The performance isn't bad considering how much they did with it. I think if you fixate on dipping below 30 at times, it can be bothersome, but you shouldn't play the Switch in general, let alone most consoles

Im shocked that they havent started porting the SMT series everywhere like they been doing Persona.

I played like 4 hours and got distracted by some other game. But it was really good from what I remember. Another game I need to go back and finish

It was fun, but overall underwhelming. For reference, I remember the combat was fun, but I really dont remember much of the story and thought it was pretty weak compared to previous entries. I dont regret playing it, but I sort of wish I got it for like $30.

Also, these games are usually a bit more challenging than traditional JRPGs. Normal mode is like Hard mode on other games.

Mid SMT game, but enjoyable. Better monster collector game than Pokemon SV though. Just my opinion.

Game runs better on emulator with mods
