Before I start I am not suggesting the whole of Ukraine are like that, or that Russia is a save haven for people, without bigotry and the like. However today, I saw once more Ukrainian armed forces waving around Nazi shit. Like they have most of the world on their side, and they can't cool it with the Nazi stuff. Hell once Mark Hammil was doing an interview/ support thing with a group and they had Nazi iconography in the background of the video. They know this is going out the world , and they still have to show that stuff. Republicans are looking for any excuse to let Russia have that nation. And these guys are not helping. Honestly it puts everyone else is a horrible spot, and gives ammo to people who would have them fall.

Nah they're legit Neo Nazis. This was a known issue before when those units terrorized the Donbass.

Back in the 1920s and 30s, Stalin used Ukraine as the Soviet Unions bread basket and more or less starved them to death. Lots of people never forgot about that, and during the war saw the nazis as the lesser evil.

If they stopped with the Nazi stuff, they would lose US support.

Also they really don't want to do it.

Yeah, Ukraine had a Nazi issue that nobody really spoke on. There was a "big" Nazi metal festival that used to go down in Ukraine too.

More or less.
Communism was just as bad as nazism towards smaller nations and therefore people who were under one regime think of the other one as not so bad, when in fact both need to be completely eradicated from the planet.

Nazism did way worse atrocities in the West and therefore communism is seen as something as not as bad. Red star, hammer and sickle, etc aren't seen in the same light as swastika on other nazi symbols, but they absolutely should be.

Always have in mind that Soviets were fully prepared to pretty much split the world with nazis and that Hitler's lunacy was the only thing which prevented them from doing so. If Hitler didn't strike, they absolutely wouldn't react to anything happening in the West.

So yeah, Eastern Europeans hate Russians for the most part and some of them therefore ignorantly identify with nazis.

a) Russia has more nazis and Russia deliberately exports out nasizm and fascism to the rest of the world as part of their geo political strategy. Strange how people so concerned over the one tiny group of nazis in Ukraine never talk about this.

b) Its not that hard to understand why they are tolerated for now. They simply need as many able-bodied people as possible to fight for them. If in some hypothetical scenario where the US didn't have the means to defend itself from a ground invasion and an invading country was mass murdering every civilian in sight, then I would take absolutely no issue with arming people like the proud boys or the oathkeepers. The situation is that dire that we simply can't sort it out until after the war is over.

Plucky little have concerns about Ukraine's Jewish head of state while launching simultaneous campaigns of genocide against their neighbours and minority oblasts.

The reason there's so much iconography for Nazism is that Eastern Europe was the OG fascist shit hole before the communists, and when the communists fell they just returned, and the western world welcome to them back with open arms. It has nothing to do with how poorly they were treated.
