I can't really recall being restricted from playing anything.

My parents never really paid close attention to the things I played, watched, listened to etc.

Leisure Suit Larry. My older sister had the games, but I would often play them when they weren't around.

My parents really didn't care about blood and gore in games. And by the time games like GTA 3 came out and games started to use stronger swear words, I was already 17.

Mom-Mortal Kombat after she thought it made me and my brotger fight and the Warcraft series because she thought it was Satanic. She later forgot all about it and let my brother play WoW. Until his grades slipped and then he lost that.

Dad-Grand Theft Auto series-even when I was 17 he still wasn't okay with it.

Just M rated games.

Now shows/books on the other hand is a LOT more interesting.

I had a super conservative Christian father who didn't let me watch or read Harry Potter. Made me throw away and cards having to do with dark magic or demons. Don't know if anyone remembers the Krazy bones toys. Lol I wasn't allowed to have those because "knuckles bone fortune telling".

None.

We did get serious talks when I got Mortal Kombat, GTA3, and some Duke Nukem game, but they knew that I knew they were just games and that we (my brother and sisters) shouldn't emulate nor re-enact them out here in the real world.

None of us ever had any problems separating fiction from reality.

My parents bought me Doom for the SNES after years of playing the PS1 version at my aunt and uncles.

I wasn't very old when I played Doom on the ps1, I think like 8 years old.

They bought me many M rated games because they knew I obviously knew not to emulate anything I seen in the games.

I had a GameCube but my best friend at the time has a PS2 and he had GTA3 and Vice City. It's probably the first time I used gamefaqs.

None, but they did restrict some shows and movies due to sexual content. Not that they would know.. but we had to look away for kissing scenes. I'll never forget watching Gangs of New York with my brother, friend, mom, and friends mom. When it got to the sex scenes, they made us walk out. I think we saw Hulk instead. I was 14.

Wasn't allowed M rated games until I was 18, with the exception of Oblivion and Skyrim because Mom knew Morrowind was my favorite game.

Same with R rated movies. My 18th birthday present was the Friday the 13th boxset lmfao.

My Mom and Stepdad were hella strict because for some reason they thought I was a troublemaker and a "bad kid".

GTA 3 when it first came out as I was 10. But I was eventually allowed to have it at 13 and got it and Vice City within a few weeks of each other

I also wasn't allowed to watch South Park til I was 13. At the time I felt like I had the strictest Puritan mother ever but 13 isn't really that old in hindsight

None because my childhood was spent playing Atari 2600, NES, Master System and Genesis games.

There was little to no violence in those games so nothing to worry about.

By the time more violent games came out in the 1990's I was in my late teens early twenties so well past the point of my parents caring what I played.
