There's also American Housewife which ran for over 100 episodes and I've only ever seen once by accident and have never heard anyone talk about
Diedrich Bader was awesome in that show.

Dudes just followed every sitcom trope and did nothing with the format at all but it somehow became the last 90s sitcom to leave the air or something like that
Did it, though? I distinctlyntemember the show for either subverting sitcom tropes or creating completely new ones.

Like the episode where Carrie finds out that Kevin fantasizes about other women, so she created "approved fantasies" in flashcards that allowed Kevin to use when he needed them. They all involved Carrie dying in some heroic way so Kevin woupd find solice in another woman, but was very cringey and fanfic-y. I thought that was hilarious and haven't seen that in any other show.

Or when Carrie has a new boss named Doug and accidentally tells him "I love you" on the phone out of habit, only for that to blow up when the boss starts hitting on her.

I think the show has some very memorable episodes and Doug and Carrie's chemistry is wonderful (moreover than Raymond and his wife). And as mentioned earlier, Arthur is hilarious.

I will suggest Stark Raving Mad.

A Tony Shalhoub and Neil Patrick Harris led sitcom that lasted one season.

Didn't both Kevin James and Leah Remini have another sitcom later that seemed almost the same concept, with them dating or something? Whatever that was is the most forgettable.

Kevin Can Wait
Which I never watched, but I remember hearing they outright replaced his wife with Leah Remini in season 2 with zero explanation. Idk if she was the same character or just a new one with zero explanation

Remini apparently wasn't his wife in that show, just a coworker.

It's super fucking weird though, they literally killed off the wife. There was just a time skip and she'd been dead for a year.

There was a show on Fox with a great comedic cast, including Vicki Lawrence, Leslie Jordan, Martin Mull, and David Alan Grier called The Cool Kids, that somehow was complete garbage despite the cast.

The writers weren't afraid to give Carrie noticeable flaws either.

That's one thing I really liked - as the show went on she become more two dimensional/hyperfocus that sometimes went overboard (Doug too, as he seemed less self centered and more lacking self awareness from his upbringing).

The show didn't shy away from it in the last episode when they are arguing and Doug says "the real leap of faith is now years after we married - I'm still fat and you're still mean". Even the last scene is a bit uncertain as they are raising two children in chaos and Arthur suddendly moves back in.

I didn't watch that many sit coms so I don't know how many ended with the reality

D.A. Grier was pretty funny in that show.

But, yes, it was pretty bad otherwise.

This event was the inspiration for the AMC dark comedy Kevin Can Fuck Himself, which is about what an existential hell it would actually be to be a sitcom wife.

It's really cool of him to have put the entire show up on YouTube for free, along with all of his stand up specials.

I wouldn't say it's that forgettable if you have Jerry Stiller in it as the wife's dad. I've seen worse. Take it over Everybody Loves Raymond though. I kind of miss that CBS back then was more than just Chuck Lorre sitcoms or sitcoms similar to him.
