First of all, thanks to everyone who nominated characters for this tournament!

I've been putting the bracket together all morning, and I've got to say, this tournament is STACKED. Please try not to complain about the seeding, there were 64 absolute bastards nominated for this thing and every single one of them is worthy, but some of them had to have low seeds. I did the best I could to give everyone an accurate seeding, but I'm sure I missed a few here and there.

The tournament itself will start tomorrow, but in the meantime, feel free to make your predictions and even submit write-ups ahead of time. I'll do the write-ups for anyone I need to, but if you really want to do someone's write-up, feel free and I'll credit you. Try to keep it down to a single paragraph, as I want to make it fair for everyone by giving about an equal length writeup for everyone.

Wow Davros and AM in the same division that feels like it would normally be a final. Though I will also push hard for Griffith and Cioccolata. Looking forward to this.

Got my predix in. Started off legitimate then went into headcanon. We'll see how that goes.

Ended up with Cartman vs Joker final.

I'm surprised no one from the Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad-verse got in! I nominated Lalo but no one else saw fit to do so, and I definitely would've seconded Gus and Walt. Still, Gus and Walt both got bodied by Azula back in 2012 and she ended up getting crushed in the third round, so I'm not sure how much farther either of them could've gotten this time around.

F for Vect, Ancestor, Black Hat and other noms who didn't get in. Still some good stuff here

For many BB/BCS characters though, I feel like they're specifically presented as criminal but morally grey, especially Walter White.

That's ultimately why I didn't vote for Lalo, he has one very evil act but one that he saw as necessary (even if the viewers wouldn't), and he's driven more by loyalty to his family than an actual desire to do evil, which I think distinguishes him from most of this list

Trying to do a prediction and really struggling between Ted Faro and Patrick Bateman. It's hard to compare being evil on a worldwide scale like Ted was compared to Bateman's extremely personal type of evil

Yeah, as much as we the viewers see Gus as a villain, in terms of his actions:

He tries to expand a drug business while maintaining the trust of the cartel. This gets his best friend shot and killed.
He seeks revenge against the people who did this to him, which is not unreasonable.
He seeks to further his drug empire, which isn't evil in and of itself.
And he kills, or orders executions freely, but only from a pure practicality standpoint. Gus strikes me as a very business-oriented individual, and as long as you don't fuck around and you just do your job, he can be perfectly content with being nice and kind to you.

Honestly, the likes of Bill and AM aren't as "pure evil" as one would think when you look deeper depending on what you define as evil. Bill canonically regrets destroying his home dimension and AM implies part of the reason why he is so pissed is because some part of him wants to do and enjoy the positives humans can do but cant "because of them".

It's hard to quality the evilness of characters who are completely inhuman.

Day 1: Allied Mastercomputer defeats Biff Tannen, 18 to 3 (I went ahead and counted the unbolded Biff vote, but I won't be doing that for too long, so remember to bold)

Who is doing the writeups? I'm loving them so far.

I'm copying and pasting from various Wikis for the write-ups. It's lazy but they're better than what I could come up with *shrug*

Except it's not really clear that Bateman actually did any of the things he says he did.

At least I assume we're talking about the movie version. I don't remember it very well, but I did also read the book, and I didn't walk away from that with any "unreliable narrator lol this never happened" vibes.

I'd consider it to include both, and Bateman in the book is considerably worse than the one in the movie

even if he doesn't do everything he says he does, he's still very deeply emotionally evil

I read the book version of Bateman as being even more of an unreliable narrator. I thought it was implied throughout that there's a big difference between his self-image and how others see him, whereas in the movie it's just Christian Bale so we aren't led to question his fundamental sense of being as much. Like, Book Patrick *thinks* he's Christian Bale but he's actually Jesse Plemons

that said, the book version is even more heinous and disturbed whether in reality or in his head

Day 2: Randall Flagg defeats Iago, 12 to 8, in a much closer and hotly debated match than yesterday's.

Day 3: Davros defeats Lil Ze 6 to 5, in a match that could've ended up being surprisingly interesting if not for a distinct lack of votals. Not sure why people didn't vote in this one, not familiar with City Of God, perhaps? Either way, Davros sneaks by in a close one.

Oddly one of my Skyrim character builds. Would make most of these look like angels......

I would have argued stronger for Davros but Ze got that late surge while I was sleeping haha.

Oh damn Lil Ze almost made the comeback!

Day 4: Emperor Palpatine defeats The Wicked Witch Of The West, 24 to 0. One of the biggest ROFLstomps in the history of the tournament, and a strong performance going into a huge round 2 showdown with Davros.

^ That's basically the equivalent of having 5 mates hold someone down while you give 'em what-for!

Day 5: In a battle between the worst surgeons ever, Cioccolata knocked off The High Evolutionary, 10 to 6.

Day 6: The most competitive match to date sees Carnage barely squeak by Dolores Umbridge, 14 to 13, with an eleventh hour vote that prevented a tiebreaker round.

One of the most interesting things about Umbridge is that she produces a Patronus when she's sentencing innocent people to Azkaban, to essentially wizard hell. Patronuses can only be produced from happy thoughts.

I voted Carnage, but Umbridge is no slouch. A different kind of evil. I'm not sure who I'd take between her and Voldemort.

Oh man I just realized I should have nominated the Defense Professor from Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. He wouldn't have won the contest, but he would've been fun to argue.

Perfectly fine with this. I honestly thought over my vote for Umbridge and yeah, Carnage is also a mean son of a bitch that's for sure. I love comparing different baddies from different franchises. It's fun.

Day 7 ends with our first tie, Calvin Candie and Yami Marik battle it out to a 7 to 7 deadlock.

Welp there goes bracket

Calvin Candie overtook Yami Marik in the tiebreaker, 12 to 5, in the tournament's most hotly debated match to date.

Day 8: Eric Cartman defeated Nurse Ratched, 12 to 9, thanks to his body of work (just don't call him fat)!

Day 9: The first #1 seed goes down as Bondrewd knocks off Dio Brando, 12 to 10, proving that everyone in this tournament is a right proper bastard with the potential to win it all.

Day 10: If cakes were votes, Lex Luthor would've won, but they're not, and he loses to Dahlia Hawthorne, 13 to 5.

Day 11: Shou Tucker may have committed one of the most infamous acts in anime history, but Freddy Krueger was his worst nightmare in this matchup, and won 23 to 6.

Day 12: In a terrifying battle, Michael Myers slaughtered The Beast, 11 to 5, and advances to a showdown with fellow horror icon Freddy Krueger.

Day 13: In perhaps the most impressive win to date, Stormfront crushes the tournament's only Disney movie villain, Frollo, by a score of 18 to 1.

Day 14: His margin of victory is not important. The Antagonist begins his genocide crusade with an 18 to 4 win over Anton Chigurh.

I've never played Hatred, but how bad of a character can "The Antagonist" be? Is it the "I will kill all humans" uniform genocide of it all, or is there more to it? Like, just how sadistic is Hatred, and how worried should I be if someone tells me that's their favorite game?

You should be worried if someone tells you it's their favorite game because it means they like shitty games for the sole purpose of being edgy

Hatred is a very bad game where the whole purpose is just to get attention by being edgy, which it managed to do. You just kill a bunch of people while the main guy rants about hating everybody. In the credits it says something like Special Thanks to NO-ONE! Except for our fans and Lord Gaben. Also some key developers had links to the Polish far-right which sets the tone. Its just edgelord trash with some very dodgy links.
