i was like 3 or 4 and i saw the end of return of the jedi on tv

i had put it on i think USA to watch cartoons or something but they where not on yet

what i remember is luke cutting off vaders hand then the emperor telling him to embrace the hate or wtv the line is (been a while)

and then looking at his hand seeing his gloved robot hand

and i thought luke cutting off vaders hand ment he now had vaders hand

i had no idea who the characters where or anything

scene stuck with me thoe as i thought that was super cool

and no even when watching star wars properly years later (the special editions in theaters)

i did not realize that scene in my head was from star wars as i did not really remember what any one looked like

until i got to the scene again when watching return of the jedi special edition in theaters

and was like oh wow thats what this is from

when I was in middle school, there was a school-wide trip to some swimming place.

anyway, for those who didn't/couldn't go, we had to stay at school, and one of the teachers played ANH, and I think he was planning on playing as much of the OT as he could.

my friends and I weren't interested, so we just hung out outside.

The star destroyer passing overhead that took a very long time. IDK why it doesn't seem long anymore, but I heard they sped it up in the Special Edition.

Probably around nine or ten. I remember watching the movies before that age but the only memory I can recall is playing with these mini figurines my dad got me on a trip we went on to visit some of his family.

Got back from Disney World a couple days ago and was so awestruck with the Star Wars stuff. Always been a fan and seeing the Millennium Falcon and getting to help pilot it was nothing short of amazing. My son built a droid and of course emulated it off of BB-8. I contemplated an R2 unit but decided against it. I have enjoyed watching the movies and shows with him (he's ten) and hope he loves them as much as I do.

I remember an episode of Muppet Babies which spliced together clips from Batteries Not Included and Return of the Jedi. Gonzo was making hamburgers and one of the miniature alien robots from BNI had gotten stuck in a hamburger patty at the same time that a Gamorrean guard was angrily demanding a burger. I was absolutely TERRIFIED that this playful, innocent little robot was going to get eaten by the green hog man. I forget how it ended.

I'll likely never see the clip again because Muppet Babies is in legal FUCK-ALL when it comes to the rights to all the movie clips in that show. The 1980s were a different time for licensing. We just have to wait until the 2080s when Disney owns all known media. Then they can rebroadcast it.

Despite being alive in the 80s, I never actually saw the movies until around 1995 or 1996.

I think I remember sometime in the 80s though seeing a magazine about star wars and there was a picture of the worm in the asteroid that tries to eat the Millennium Falcon. But I didn't know what it was at the time

Must have been like 4 or 5. I was talking to my dad about it. He really loved it. Basically spoiled the entire trilogy to me but I couldn't quite wrap my head around that Darth Vader could both be Darth Vader and Luke's dad. Like the two were mutually exclusive lol
