Just in time for the early access to begin they snuck in Denuvo on Steam.
After taking pre-orders and a demo to lure people in.

Feels kinda scummy to me, if you're gonna use Anti-Tamper you should be required to inform people the moment you start selling your game.

Denuvo is proven to decrease performance.
It also effects modders and effectively locks them out.
It also can bug out and block legitimate customers from playing the games they paid for.

Yeah.

I mean I wasn't gonna play the game anyway but now I can act indignant about it while proudly calling for a boycott and demeaning everyone who pirates the game as a dirty thief.

Makes a lot of games run like crap. Even though they tried to prove it didn't with their internal testing, however out in the wild it's been proven that it does effect performance time and again.

Denuvo fucking sucks. Everyone should be against this trash. Unsurprisingly though, one of our board's conservatives loves it.

yes everyone cares, denuvo causes more problems to legit buyers then to pirates and it doesn't actually stop the games from being pirated

There are even guides to remove Denuvo. You'd think some people would know better than to add it into their games.

The last game I bought had this shit.
Performance notably improved when they removed it.

No shit if the complaint here is, "they added Denuvo after people already bought the game." Pirates don't buy to begin with, so that's detail's irrelevant to them.

Denuvo causes heavy performance drops at no benefit to the player.

Also they get it removed from their version, so the paying customer gets the inferior products, damn suits.

Games gonna flop now

Maybe its just me, but I have never once ran into issue with it. Or know anything about it. I dont pirate or mod games and Ive never had performance issues on my pc

To try to block pirates. But as mentioned above the pirates can often get the Denuvo cracked and removed from their copy of the game, so the legitimate player ends up suffering a worse experience for nothing.

Usually Denuvo only succeeds with unpopular games that barely anyone bothered pirating anyway (hence why they don't get cracked).

According to game devs Ive heard, it blocks pirating long enough for the dev to get a much higher profit out of the game for longer. I don't know how true that is

In that case Denuvo should be used for something like 3 months at most, or even sooner of if get's beaten.

Denuvo creates the insane situation that pirating a game gives you a better product than buying it.

Hell, even after you buy the game to support the developers, it's reasonable to still get a pirated version.
