I don't think it matters really but given China's lax regulatory atmosphere an unintentional leak from the lab that was working on those exact types of viruses seems about as plausible as a random mutation from a wet market animal to humans. That they wouldn't let foreign investigators into the lab seems to pile onto that theory.

For the record I don't think it would have been an intentional attack or whatever.

I lol at anyone who thinks its just some random mutation. Yeah it might have been randomly mutated, after being leaked or deliberately spread from a lab in China lol

I think I heard this from a conservative radio host, so it's could be embellished or false, but I heard some of the lab workers would routinely steal animals that had been tested and sell them off to meat markets to make extra side money. You know, seeing as they were underpaid lab techs with little supervision living in a country that culturally has no problem eating anything from dog meat to endangered tiger penises.

I'm sure there's probably dozens of different things that "prove" otherwise but it originating in the same area as a biolab is just too big a coincidence and countries have a long history of finding experts to say whatever they want them to. Plus it's the ccp.

Accidental lab leak is the obvious cause. Of course, China has to lie about absolutely everything, so don't expect them to release the evidence ever.

If I had to choose, a mix of 1 and 5 from what I've heard of is my best guess.

We can't change the past but its best too know the truth of how it started to help prevent future outbreaks.

Unfortunately, we will probably never know because China is suppressing the origins of how it started and refuses to let people research it.

I don't think you two necessarily disagree. It DID mutate naturally, but the mutations predominantly occurred once it was actually infecting people. That doesn't really say much for the actual origin (lab leak or otherwise.)

That said, like I said in my last post, most loud, vocal "lab leak" supporters insist it was a deliberate leak, which is pretty dumb.

It definitely WASN'T aliens. In case anyone was thinking that.

i have a feeling it was just me. i get sick randomly and no one's been able to explain it and it was never something they considered contagious. the symptoms were really bad and tormented my childhood and sound similar to what happens.
what if it became contagious one day? what if it finally happened ... i haven't really been sick like this since then, since the vaccines, since everything. maybe it's me. maybe i'm the one. patient zero. damn.

Not really. The bio lab is there in the first place because its a part of the world where a lot of respiratory viruses exist and have mutated to infect humans in the past (before the lab existed). The lab is there because researchers knew a natural mutation of a respiratory virus to infect humans would happen again in that area. It was only a matter of time.

For the lab leak to be the obvious cause you have to both be ignorant of why the lab is there in the first place, and to believe that nature has better lab protocols than an actual lab.
