5 episodes in, I didn't really know what to expect here.

This is the most Japanese thing I've ever watched. Also the funniest. The dialogue is so sharp. When Senjougahara told him not to spit when he talked coz she didn't want to "catch virginity" from him I about died.

Anyway, this is such a change of pace from Fate... and like anything else I've ever watched but I'm hooked for sure.

While I'm watching this we should brainstorm something else for me to watch IMO

To answer your question. You're watching Senjougahara's arc so she's the main girl in it. But she's not the main girl in other arcs. In fact there are other girls with much more screen time than her. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. But you probably might not end up with Senjougahara as your main waifu if you're already impressed lol.

Senjougahara arc is just the first two episodes

All the characters are good imo

My recommendation would be Kaguya-Sama but it's much more romcom-y than Monogatari.

I think some parts of Monogatari aren't as good as others but I like it a lot overall.

I watched the first season of Kaguya after it aired and for some reason never got back to it, despite absolutely loving it.

It's weird, back in like 2018 I got REALLY into anime again after not watching for a long time. The anime that got me started?

Monogatari is the best anime of all time so good choice.

The style, the dialogue, the animation, the references are all top notch.

when she was offering things she could do to pay Araragi back and was like "Do you want me to defeat the Saiyans that are on their way to Earth?" and this man counters back immediately with "You mean you're stronger than even Shenron?!" I knew this was gonna be an all-timer.

Well if you're enjoying Monogatari now, good.
There's around 100 eps and 3 movies worth of content to go through.

Quality can depend on your preferred characters but whole cast is good.

Then Studio Shaft dies and no more Monogatari adaptions.

Kizu is the most up for debate, seen some put it after Bake.
Koyo before Owari or even classified as optional for some.

It's still my favorite anime. I don't know what you'd think of it, but I'll always think it's a worthwhile experience.

Going by book order, Kizumonogatari (the movie trilogy) should come after Bakemonogatari.
