I recall disliking the news all through my teenage years, because it gave my mother an excuse to freak out about a dog attack in a different town/city. Like sorry, but who cares? It's like what happens now with social media; there are 1000 videos of people being rude assholes in public, or an argument on a plane. Guess what? I really don't need to know about that. Anyhow, after learning my distaste for Canadian news, imagine going to...the USA. CNN seemed bad enough - basically the same banal news as Canada, but cranked up in regards to the 'newsiness' (the way they dress, hair, makeup, the way they talk) and on repeat ad nauseum. They repeat the same thing over and over in 5-10 minutes, and then start repeating it again half an hour later. Then you see rightwing news...and it's absolutely revolting. Everything just kept getting worse. Now there's alternative news that pretends to hate mainstream news while lifting their stories and dramatizing them. Fucking loser of a Supervisor I have. The more I earn in commission, the more he earns. But I know it's a scam and am perfectly fine order taking and not earning much more than my base salary.
