Adventure Time died when the new writers took over and made it absolutely clear how much they hated Finn as ever since they took over the entire show was all about crapping on him

Finn was too young for relationships. Too immature. That was emphasized not only with his crush on Bubblegum but also his relationship with Flame Princess. He did mature as the show went on but really didn't have another serious relationship ship. Huntress wizard came late in the series so I don't know if that went anyway.
