You should watch it; it's not just a gimmick, it's a legitimate sequel series. If you liked AT enough to finish it, you're missing out by not watching this.

Yeah I'm not gonna spoil F&C for anyone cuz it's legitimately great and worth watching. Some real gut punch moments. Especially in regards to Simon.

Ice King has always been the most tragic character in AT imo, but F&C somehow made him even more tragic.

minor spoilers for F&C The worst part is that nobody cares. Even when he points it out to them they just ignore him because other things are going on.

It seems like they can't relate to simon's alienation and loneliness. PB and Marcy seems to be willing to listen, but they are too busy / absorbed with their new life to notice something is wrong and simon is too afraid to disturb their happiness and open up.

Finn is going trough his grief of losing jake, and we know from together again movie he never really get over it. His adventures are just mindless distraction to push all of his feeling too.

Yeah, for those wondering, Fionna and Cake is a sequel to Adventure Time and it was made with the intention that the series grew up with the audience. It's getting away with a lot more now that it's not forced to be a show for young people.

It's a little more mature but otherwise yeah, and a many years later kinda sequel so far.

ha last episode is so dark.

in an alt universe, ice king became "sane" winter king transferred the curse to PB, and i's implied his marcelline died and he created a fake marcy out of living ice, and she melted when the magic was dispelled by fionna's condiion.

He actually goes into an alternative pillow dimension after he crawls into a pillow fort he made to cope with some heartbreak. He lives an entire life over there with a pillow wife and pillow kids, and there's one scene where his soon-to-be pillow wife makes an overt comment about how randy she is for Finn.

He actually lives through to old age, and on his death bed his naked old man body bounces off some prism shaped god guy and flies back into the main universe where he's a teenager again. It was weirdly existential as fuck, I remember it being one of my favourite episodes. It's called "Puhoy" for some weird reason.

I didnt read topic but that wasnt canonical at all and its even more not canonical in Fiona and cake

but it wasnt even real in adventure time. Like really quickly.
