I've read that he's still going be involved in WWE's creative direction on some level but won't have full creative control like he used to.

I doubt he's ever going to permanently retire unless his health is bad enough that he's forced to.

Vince should go all out tonight on RAW and have one last vintage vince show. Repetitive matchups, shit finishes, open the show with a boring 20 minute promo, cringe comedy acts, borderline racist "jokes," etc

Fuck Vince McMahon.

I'm sure that he's happy to be sitting on that $9 billion, but I'm glad the company is no longer in his hands.

My conspiracy theory is that some combination of Steph/HHH/etc... were the ones that "leaked" Vince's sexual misconduct stuff that caused him to "retire", and so Vince is selling the company purely out of spite. A very "If I can't have it, none of you can" kind of thing.

Also possible Vince things the company going public was a bad idea -e.g., they had to significantly tone down the raunchiness that was present during WWE's peak in the late 90s and early 2000s, and making the whole thing a smaller part of a larger whole gives HHH and Stephanie (and whoever else is taking over) more freedom to make "their" WWE.

So If I want to put my tinfoil hat on, I think its a deliberate act that's either incredibly sympathetic, or incredibly spiteful, but nothing in between.

Vince McMahon isolating his family for power or financial gain does not surprise me in the least.

As a reminder, Vince is going to sit as the executive chairman on the board for Endeavor.

I wish the WWE the best in their future endeavors

I doubt vince cares, wwe is by far the most profitable it has ever been precisely because they went public.

WWE is too sterile of a product. It could loosen up and be more like AEW without losing its core audience.

Just drop the shitty booking and give people dream matches every week.

He recently had very taxing back surgery which has taken him back out of WWE's day-to-day operations. He's taken a step back once again and there's no word on when or if he'll come back this time.

Its the former, not the latter, if anything. Vince had no problem with the PG era, thats how they got all that advertiser money.

How much of that actually happened and how much of that was kayfabe though? Did he ever really have any intention to give the company away to his kids. Vince strikes me as the dude who would be so fucking embarrassed if one of his kids did a better job than he did that he would rather sell the company than take the chance.

Its at least well known that Shane urged Vince to buy UFC when it was small, Vince refused, and Shane was furious when it blew up.

Its also well known that when Vince bought WCW, Nitro (or another name, cant remember) was supposed to be its own show with Shane running it. They did a trial match of Nitro the last 15 minutes of Raw or something with Booker T and Buff Bagwell, and it flipped hard, so Vince scrapped the idea.

Shane didn't want it. Steph and Triple H did but Vince would rather WWE burn instead of letting them have control. Not to mentioned Steph quit as soon as Vince came back and let Triple H go from basically all of his positions in the company.
