The 16-year-old daughter of a top Lowes executive was killed and her two friends were injured after she crashed her Porsche into a tree near her familys $2.6 million North Carolina mansion, cops said.

Stella Grace Bright was allegedly speeding when her two-seater 2014 Porsche 911 supercar flew off the road in Mooresville, near Lake Norman, at 3.20 a.m. Saturday striking the tree and a rock landscaping wall, the Charlotte Observer reported.

Bright was pronounced dead at the scene, while her two friends were rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

One of Brights friends had been sitting in the back section of the sports car, which isnt equipped for passengers and has no seat belts, cops added.

Both Bright and her front seat passenger were wearing seat belts at the time.

Investigators havent yet disclosed how fast they believe Bright was driving at the time, but said speed was a factor.

The fatal wreck happened less than two miles from the Bright familys $2.6 million lake house, The Daily Mail reported.

It wasnt immediately clear if the Porsche which retails anywhere from $60,000 to $120,000 and can reach speeds approaching 200 miles per hour was owned by the teen, or if it belonged to her parents, Teresa and Chris Bright.

Brights twin sister, Olivia, was among those to pay tribute in the wake of her shock death, posting on social media that the teen was her other half.

I dont know how Im going to live another day without you u meant the world to me and still do. You didnt deserve to go this soon you really didnt, Olivia wrote.

I wont stop thinking about you and I know you want me to be happy so Im going to try to be happy just for you.

Meanwhile, friends described the teen as a beautiful soul and someone who would always make people smile in an awkward situation.

Giving a 16 year old a car with anywhere between 345-550 horsepower is just a tragedy waiting to happen.

Even the cheapest 911 of that era (the 991 per enthusiasts) does 0-60 in sub-5 seconds.

Can't imagine anything worse than the death of a daughter or a son regardless of the circumstance.

Letting a 16 year old handle a Porsche is irresponsible. Even if it's a Carrera that's just too much car, esp. with the rear engine setup.

Sadly, this type of thinking will become more and more common in the next few years while the economy is recovering from Covid.

Average 9-5 workers are becoming vocal about their hate for rich people. Guarantee there's scuzzy people on CE who think this is a positive.

In the article it says they don't know if it was her car or her parents. She could have snuck out in the middle of the night for a joyride. She is a teenager with a bunch of friends.

A 911 is a straight up mid-engined sports car that a 16 year old really has no business driving.

"3:20 am" definitely reads like a joyride. Most reasonable parents wouldn't permit their 16-year-old to be out driving that late. Tragic regardless.

It could have been a sudden corner, and she was going too fast and hit head-on. At high speed, hitting a tree and wall is several times more powerful than hitting at 30 MPH.

nah there's just a tree reflecting off the bumper. it's just a photo of another 911.

I'm assuming they're not posting the actual crash out of respect, or investigation stuff, maybe.

why is this stressed so much if it's not even confirmed and there's no actual information from the parent. it was just searched on linkedin and blasted this everywhere.

none of the info on the car is correct. those fuckers go up to a half mil and the rear seats definitely have seat belts. unless she was in a gt3rs or some shit

I just zoomed in, and even though its fuzzy, its definitely cracked and shattered with other damage up above. You can see where the layers are at different heights.

Anyway, Ive got no idea, probably just a stock photo.

Ehhh sort of. Some States/Provinces have rules about the size of people who can sit in the back seat of a 2+2. My TT had an under 5'0 warning on the door.

Although more likely is they're confusing a Cayman/Boxster with a 911 because all the non SUV Porsche's look similar.
