The region 2/Pal/Pegi version of ps5 is widely available and its just the region one version that's rare? Or has the supply issue been resolved?

I still don't know if I should gamble on waiting for a ps5 pro or just buy the regular version in all its clamshell glory. I wish they'd just release one with more than just 600 gb usable storage space without me having to buy my own ssd and install it myself like some pc gamer, ain't nobody got time for that.

The pro wont be released until you buy a ps5 first.

They're easy to find now.

I got one back in March. I just walked into the store and they had all versions available.

I can't see them releasing ps5 pro cos what new features will there be? Ps4 Pro was made for 4k mainly what will ps5 pro even do special? they might as well make a slim "pro" with bigger storage like 2tb maybe and smaller size physically that sounds more likely to be a thing to me

That ssd was like half the price of the console when it released. Its only been a month or so since we can get a 1tb for under a hundred bucks. And those arent from top brands like Samsung and western digital I think.

Also this. PS5 currently supports 8k gaming which no game does and 120 hz which only a couple dozen do. PS5 hasnt been pushed so what pro features are even on the table to be added?

That sounds pretty good tbh, I'd buy that.

just get it. they been pretty easy to get for like a year now. any time i've checked online for it it's in stock.

the SSD is super easy to upgrade. it's just taking off part of the ps5 case that slides out and you have the SSD expansion slot right there. you just take out the screw and put in your SSD and screw it up. just get one of the popular SSDs for PS5 that have the heatsink already on it. i bought a 2TB for mine which i'm sure will end up filling up in the next year or so with how big a lot of games are now.

i can see a PS5 slim next year but doubt they do a pro for awhile if they do at all. so i wouldn't bother waiting on that. get the ps5 now and if they do come out with one you can just upgrade to it if you really want but i never bothered to with the ps4 pro. they still had to make games run on the base ps4 so not many utilized the pro much. and by time a decent amount did the PS5 was already announced.

I think the PS5 Slim and Pro are coming out this fall.

Sometimes these "shortages" are just due to greed.

Imagine how pissed I was decades later when I discovered the chip shortage that delayed the North American release of Zelda 2 was due to a contractual monopoly Nintendo of America held. There was nothing stopping the game from being released using the superior Japanese chips.

I saw a fully stocked Walmart space like a month ago. It blew my mind. Before that I don't know if I'd ever seen a PS5 in stores period

I dont think theyre rare anymore. Every time Im in Wal-Mart they have a bunch of them, and thats three or four different Wal-Marts.

I just have no reason to get one when they seem to be bringing all their exclusives to PC after 6 months to 3 years depending on the game.

Yea, they're (Sony and also developers/publishers in general) realizing how big of a market PC gaming is becoming. The only real reason for a PS5 is to play exclusives early these days.

Idk if PS5s are even rare anymore. You can get one fairly easily now compared to when they first dropped

I bought Horizon Zero Dawn and played it for PS4, then about 3-6 months later it came out on PC. I was so pissed, and vowed not to get double dipped again lol.

That game was free for so long. Game of the year edition was 10 bucks new and digital for so long as well.

I didnt do Epic Store freebies then if thats what it was. Even now, I just get the freebies through the website but havent downloaded the launcher.

I picked it up at least 50% off during a Steam sale.

Why do people think a pro model of the PS5 will exist? The PS4 had a 6 year lifecycle, were about to be on year 4 of the PS5. The reason the last gen had pro models its because they were severely gimped consoles from the get go. Both the PS5 and Series X are very competent consoles compared to last gen.

I am almost willing to bet actual money that a pro doesn't not happen in those years. There is literally no need for a pro. The ONLY reason for the PS4 Pro and Xbox refresh was for 4K. 4K TVs really started taking off after the original PS4 and Xbox One. That's it. That's the only reason. Are you expecting 8K TVs to take off in the next few months? I mean PS5 isn't even being pushed to its limits now. There's still room to improve with better optimization.
