Around my neighborhood for 278k for a slightly better house. I know its not new news how screwed up the market is, but its surreal how I wouldnt be able to live where I do even though we make almost double what we did back when we purchased. That our 700 mortgage would be around 2k thanks to interests.

I really feel for all the people stuck under this situation and dont take for granted how lucky we were to buy at the right moment.

Right now if you bought a home in 2019/2020 you basically were given free money/equity.

its absolutely insane that my mortgage today would be practically double if I had to purchase right now.

Bought a house for 250 in 2019. Now it's worth almost half a million dollars.

Now we are kinda stuck in it cuz we can't afford any other house.

Yeah we upgraded to a bigger home mid-2019, almost on a whim (we literally moved a block away because we saw them putting the sign out they say they listed it and put in an offer immediately) and its gone from $340k to just about a half mill

I bought houses in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022. Equity looking real good right now in all of them.

I remember people in 2015 being like dont buy now, the market is gonna crash then buy!

Florida housing market exploded in 2018~

I had some friends who were roommates and their landlord was jacking up their rent by 50% every other year.

I was making $13k a year in 2018

I now make $60k a year and a house is as unaffordable now for me as it was then

My house was sold new for $200k in 2007

In 2012 it got sold for $80k

I bought it in 2018 for $190k

Its now worth $350k

Bought ours in 2019 for 257k at 4.75%

Now worth 375k with rates at 7-8%

Utter madness

Bought my house March 2022 for 650k and it's now sitting at almost 700k. Just wondering where it'll be after like 10 years.

Buying that same house now would add an additional $1200 to my mortgage.

Im just glad I no longer have a mortgage. My house is completely paid off. I have no issues staying where Im at. I like my house. But even if I wanted to upgrade the current interest rates dont matter to me because between cash on hand and selling my current house I could upgrade and pay in cash.

But I currently have no plans on going anywhere.
