I just watched this indie thing called The Endless about 2 guys stuck in some sort of time loop.

This scene is disturbing

I got the gist of Synecdoche, New York for the most part. The DVD had a critic roundtable featurette, and then I watched it again.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things put me in a false sense of security thinking it would be less experimental than the last Charlie Kaufman movie. And then the dog started shaking its head...

It's a very convoluted time travel plot that requires multiple viewings to get the gist of. It gets more and more complicated the more you watch it too.

I love this movie, very underrated imo. Wahlberg is actually funny in it. There's really not that much to understand, it's an absurdist comedy with heavy existentialist themes. There's a lot of very shallow philosophy references in it, which I liked because I was majoring in philosophy when it came out.

Didn't even know it was particularly highly regarded, must be cause it is an original concept I guess, cause it is tbh.

I liked it cause it was honestly very funny.

Definitely Primer. Like, a lot of the stuff isn't even really apparent till you read up on it.

Mulholland Drive eventually does make sense.

Inland Empire made sense eventually as well but it was nauseating as fuck.

Synechdoche, New York was pretty ??? the first time I watched it but on second view it made a lot more sense. I'm Thinking Of Ending Things didn't always make sense during the movie but by the end I was fully on track with what was going on.

I haven't seen Southland Tales since I watched it the first time in high school so maybe I was just a dumb dumb, but I definitely was very confused about what was going on.

Generation Pi is a modern Russian movie that was also fairly confusing but a large part of that was language issues as well.
