Also, how the fuck do novels benefit planet Earth? I'm not saying we should all die, but humans have been objectively bad for the planet.

You have no right to really share your opinions like you have any knowledge on anything.

And stop being so intolerant of intolerance of intolerance.

The most offensive thing to me is their bastardized image of Jesus Christ. They openly say that he would carry an AR15 if he were alive today. He wasnt a warrior in the first place. If Jesus came back he would most certainly not be a conservative.

The very same people who worship a man who championed charity and compassion are the most cruel and selfish people you will meet. Theyre the very people who say that not every job should pay a living wage and that not everyone deserves to live in the green. They have zero compassion for recovering addicts or people with mental disorders. They have zero compassion for people who never got a fair chance at a high paying work. Theyre the same people who destroyed the planet claiming that God would magically restore the firmament.

And the manipulation they pull on Duncan is the same they pull on Christians.

They can be hateful scumfucks that wish some innocent people were dead, but they're nice to you. So when their targets say mean things to them, you take it personally because you now associate with them.

Duncan's like "So what if they're intolerant? That's their free speech! Everyone has unique opinions!" But having an intolerant opinion of the intolerance of those jackasses? Well that's a bridge too far! Just because they say I'm a pedophile that should be locked up for killing people doesn't give me the right to be rude to them! Why can't I respect their views? They probably like sports and video games like I do!

Come on duncan. You criticized CE for lacking nuance and then refused to apply it yourself. Can you at least acknowledge that the statements:

"Things would be better without humans." and "the planet would be healthier without humans,"

can mean different things? Even if you disagree with both statements. Even if you disagree on what should be considered "healthy" for the planet. Even if your personal inference on what each sentence means is the same. Can you agree that there's a difference?

Well, you see. He's allowed to be disgusted at people for daring to say that nature is beautiful too and pointing out that humanity is destroying that.

Sounds like he's being intolerant. Maybe he should be more tolerant of people pointing out that the earth would definitely be better without us baking it into a husk. But hey, he's allowed to be disgusted by that but heaven forbid anybody be disgusted by the things said by his "friends."

We could always just stop baking it into a husk and stop wholesale destroying nature too. Those would also make the earth better.

That's about as likely a scenario as Duncan doing anything he demands of others.

The majority of most things are gonna be Christian. Christians are still the majority.

That being said, I've recently read about some of the republican-fascist spectrum turning away from Jesus.

https://www.newsweek.com/evangelicals-rejecting-jesus-teachings-liberal-talking-points-pastor-1818706
"When the pastor would say, 'I'm literally quoting Jesus Christ' ... The response would be, 'Yes, but that doesn't work anymore. That's weak," he added. "When we get to the point where the teachings of Jesus himself are seen as subversive to us, then we're in a crisis."

Late to the topic and no one really gives a shit about my opinion, but here it is.

As a Christian from a decent church with a very diverse congregation I can tell you for a FACT that there are plenty of us that are disgusted with these "Christian" fools. They will find out how wrong they are when they stand before the Father to be judged. Everything they stand for is the opposite of what Jesus taught.

Even though I love my church, I'm afraid it is probably about a 50/50 split. Yes, about half of them are brainwashed idiots ready to vote for any of "those" canidates and they make this world a worse place to live in. BUT, that doesn't mean the rest of us aren't trying to do the right things and make our community, and the world, a better place.

Lumping all Christians together makes you as evil as those you are trying to speak out against. How about you actually think before posting? If you're not just trolling (most likely), of course.

Irrelevant. You don't get to call all Christians rapists, fascists and murderers without challenge, based on what you think is inherent to them. If not you yourself called them that, others do and you don't get to bypass that when someone says its wrong to generalise.

Also it's nice how you signify "here in America." The Christians in India being persecuted don't count? Or they're just ae bad in your eyes?

You think that generalising all Christians is not the same as generalising all black people or all LGBT people. And all Muslims or all Hindus etc?
Fine. No one can stop you. On this forums you'll get people applauding you. Of course if Christians respond then that's wrong of them also they just need to admit how backwards and stupid and hateful they all are.

But it doesn't make it right. Even your framing it of "what about those who have been hurt by Christians" doesn't hold up, in the same way that saying all white people are bad because in America most racial oppression is done by people who are white, doesn't hold up. I have no problem discussing the problems caused by a lot of white people or a lot of Christians. But I won't write them all off.

And replying with "u didnt mind christians raping or killing but u get angry because someone said ur a facist" is fundamentally wrong, because you've maintained the generalised premise in the first place. Nor is this a victim complex, just as arguing with tipping fanatics who say "all people who dont tip deserve to have their food spat into" is not adopting a victim complex for all uh....non tippers.

Okay but here's the thing: We do not see nearly enough of the "good" Christians speaking out publicly or socially about the bad ones.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks to me like most "progressive" or "tolerant" Christians are either too afraid to speak up, or they see the benefit in letting the loud, active, radical segment of their faith bully and scream because ultimately it moves legislation effectively and they aren't the ones being harmed.

Think of it like how many middle class white people might be horrified at individual stories of police brutalizing marginalized communities, but are okay with police militarization and expanded power because they aren't the ones likely to be harassed or targeted by it, instead they rationalize they are the beneficiaries of it.
