30 years ago it made sense. If you weren't athletic there wasn't much for you in sports.

But today analytics is so intertwined in sports, if you have interest in math or numbers at all there's a good chance you'll be interested in sports.

Honestly, I want to like sports, I follow the NBA and watch a lot of videos on it despite not watching games. I love watching different break down videos on thinking basketball.

My main problems are if you don't have cable, league pass is a big investment for something you may or may not use, and games are just too long.

That doesnt make any sense. You can analyze anything. You could analyze how many celebrities get married and divorced in a year and what the ludicrously high child support payment ends up being, but why would you give a fuck? Its the same with sports.

Because better numbers basically equals better player. Especially in a sport like baseball. It's like a game within a game.

I had a slight interest in hockey for a few years. Other sports were just boring to me. Baseball/football was so much standing around. Basketball was too much scoring. I did hate football even more when the superbowl was on my 21st birthday. No way in hell was I going to go to a bar that day.

For me at least, I have to care about the thing itself nefore I care about the numbers therein.

I used to watch pro wrestling more for the storylines than anything else, and I occasionally watch some video talking about how great Larry Bird and Michael Jordan were, and that in their primes, theyd average 40-60 points a game against todays players with todays rules. Thats about as far as my involvement with sports goes.

I consider myself a nerd to some descriptive degree but I dont hate sports

I thought about it on my own, but running is considered a sport to some standards

one of my favorite exercises was stair running, and I truly miss it

darts is considered a sport and I got a set and board but it gets boring fast for me

I practiced trick shots and dribbling basketball almost daily several years ago

I guess I'm a nerd, but I'm not a typical nerd? Whatever.

I don't hate sports... I think watching most sports is boring. I also think we emphasize the importance of sports way too much as a society, and a large part of that is the amount of time, money and resources we put into sports at the k-12 and collegiate level.

If you love sports... enjoy! I'll even watch a game on occasion with friends or family. I just can't sit there are watch people do repetitive actions, regardless of their physical ability. I'd rather watch great musicians play music... or something more entertaining.

My father forced me to play little league when I was a kid and I sucked at it. He was a coach and would yell at me if I fucked up. One time I missed a flyball and he ranted about it the whole way home. "I can't believe you missed that ball!".

I think that's why I just don't like them now. I have zero interest in any sport. I don't even like movies that are sports related. Fuck Rudy.

This. I dont hate sports, the players just have too much money thrown at them.

And as already said by someone else, if theres anything I do hate regarding sports its hooliganism. Think how many people have died in riots and stampedes because your favourite overpaid performer lost to their favourite overpaid performer.

Sports hooligans. The original fanboys.

Just watch a montage of the goals (or home runs, etc.) which using the DB analogy would mean Kai.

I don't hate sports, I'm disinterested. A lot of sports just aren't that interesting to watch. That's not a problem, not every activity is for every person. The worst I could say is that some obscene amounts of money trades hands, but that's a criticism of the industry rather than the sports themselves.

The fans on the other hand can be absolute dickheads. So much blood has been spilled over football rivalries here in the UK because some people get WAAAAY too attached to teams they aren't even a part of.

This too. So many schools will have immaculate football fields and jerseys, but will have books that are falling apart and ancient, barely running computers. Some of the best paid jobs in some states are college football coaches. Sports and academics never should have gotten to this level.

Worse is Americas weird fascination with high school sports. Is it true you have adults watching football at high schools they dont even have kids attending? Meanwhile the rest of the world leaves school sports behind like everything else?

Combat? Not at all. Technique means nothing without strength and stamina to back it up. Try taking on an experienced boxer and ask him not to hit back, only dodge and block. Youll be screaming for air 30 seconds in because your body isnt conditioned for that kind of activity.

As I grew up and grew away from social situations that put me in such places, I went from antagonistic to ambivalent. Combat sports are some of the most well conditioned athletes on the planet. Try throwing hands or wrestling for 3 minutes and you'll quickly see how good your cardio needs to be to keep that up for multiple rounds.

i underestimated them, dude. they didn't look that athletic on the TV. well mainly the heavyweights but maybe cuz they just look like they move slower because of their larger size

i just attribute explosiveness w/ athleticism i didn't know about things like endurance and stamina being apart of it wtf
