Or you do something like go to get lunch in your sick day and someone sees you, so your boss goes "well I guess you weren't that sick after all"? Many people in my field would be offended to be called an ESL teacher. I don't just teach English in a language school. But, I called her and told her I was having symptoms of covid and she told me that if I call out with symptoms that I can't come back until I get a negative test and that they really can't afford to miss another person. Gave me attitude that I just wanted time off, but ultimately she said it was my choice.
