The car never got much beyond walking pace. No, the cop wasn't defending himself from an attack. Both of his hands were free and he was just telling her to get out. Not aggressively, just seriously. Front cop was trigger happy, ran up and basically shot her within 10secs of appearing. He done f'd up. Even if side cop tried to best of his ability to get her out before that, front cop would've killed her. It was also side cop that broke the window to try to save her. What the video also clearly shows is that the distance and angle of car to cop did not allow for any potential of serious risk to the cop. If the cop on the front had been dead center or a foot back, I'd probably say it'd be justified, but being right on the corner like that makes it feel really silly. Though I'd also be curious how fast she actually accelerated. If it just looks slow because of the video and she actually caused the guy injury, it might be more justified.
