Very probably. The Trudeau brand appears to be wearing thin, and the Libs have had less votes than the Tories in two consecutive elections. It's really only a matter of time before enough Lib voters swap to the New Dems (or Bloc to win enough seats in Quebec) for the Tories to win enough of a plurality to take power again.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I definitely wouldn't say it's likely, it could happen though. Especially with their shifting more and more right, it's not a winning strategy.

Trudeau and company have been pretty embarrassing in recent years so it's not really surprising.

He started somewhat strong with legal weed and not putting up with the bullshit surrounding Elbowgate, but he's gone pretty far downhill since.

I don't think Poilievre will be much better but a lot of people up here are ready for change so a CPC minority would not be unrealistic.

No one is happy with this ALP government. We don't really have two parties anymore; we have the Australian Landlord Party ("L)" vs the Landlord National Party (R) and it has been that way since about 2006 -- that's around the year we hit the $1m+ point for a 2-3 bed, 1 bath, 1 car space. Almost no one is satisfied with this ALP government, I regret voting for them but it's not like I had a lot of choice. When literally everyone in parliament is a landlord, there's little incentive to fix things because it will harm their personal bottom line.

They've triple banned vaping, they're increased the migration cap to near 1m people when we have 150k vacant properties at any one time, and have only committed to building another 200k over the next 10 years and that's social housing (the kind of housing where if you have a job, it's almost impossible to get in). It's nonsense. This country is going down the drown real quick.

lol no.

Its looking that way because we're far from an election, but the second Pollievre has to start actually campaigning the whole thing is gonna fall apart, and just like the last two elections, its Justin Trudeau competing with basically nothing. Singh is never gonna win anything, and Pollievre is a nutcase.

The same stuff happened after Trudeau's first election, and then again after his second, and now again after his third. He isn't great, but he's miles away the only acceptable answer here and Canadians are fully aware of that.

There has to be way worse stuff going on for Trudeau to actually sink the liberals, given there's nothing to actually compete with them.

Im genuinely concerned that lgbt+ rights will be rolled back because of Trudeau fatigue, constant scandals and the price of living rising being linked to the carbon tax.

were very far from an election, but these polls definitely show how people are feeling. I cant see a CPC majority lasting long if they start that anti trans shit imo

That's just it, once the actual election run up starts people are going to take a closer look at Poilievre and see how extreme he is.

There's only so much he can do to try to craft a softer image when the whole reason he was picked was because the Conservatives thought O'Toole was just too darn liberal and the only reason he was too darn liberal was because he was trying to pull the party more to the center because he realised that if the Conservatives kept going further right that they'd never be able to win a Federal election again, the demographics just don't math out for that any more.

I hate to see it.. But if Trudeau doesn't step down before to allow someone else to run in his place.. then ya, I cant see the Liberal's winning and unfortunately see the conservatives winning

Most people don't feel like the liberals are doing anything to combat Inflation, The rising cost of food, Housing, gas prices, Health care being privatized, wages being reduced and suppressed, jobs being cut.. pretty much every issue that almost all Canadian's are facing the majority feel are being ignored

Of course voting for the conservatives wont do anything to combat those issues at all.. hell they will just make things worse since.. but they will just make the conservative base feel better by just pointing at a group to use as the "Other" to blame for all the issues

I would love to be surprised and see the Conservatives crash and burn.. but i dont have much faith

Don't worry, when some old idiot who bought a house in the GTA 30 years ago and thinks it makes them savvy businesspeople are upset that they now have to pay 6x to take their kid to the Doctor because the provincial conservatives gutted healthcare, it'll still somehow be Trudeau's fault.

The nutjobs south of the border have really done a number on you all. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the federal conservative party. Sometimes they do a few stupid things and lose power, just like the Liberals. They're almost the same party, it's our job to give the incumbents a reality check when they get complacent.

Through a combination of mostly inaction with a dose of incompetence, Justin is sending the country off a cliff and needs to go. I wanted to get rid of him for the past couple elections (after initially voting him in) solely because of the Internet censorship crap, but the housing crisis and wage suppression is what's going to take him down. The immigration numbers are just insanity.
