Seems like that's something to protest about if a mild inconvenience is the barrier between paying rent or not.

Who do you think drives to work in DC?

Goppers, oil lobbyists, and conservative/idiot lawmakers.

And considering how many people commute into DC to work, every one of them is likely able to solve at least one of that trifecta by voting them out.

Feels like an effective call to action to me.

So black people deliberately disrupting thr whole of society to gain rights were wrong? They should have just sat on the front lawns of lawmakers? Would you have been out there telling them how their protesting was going to make people more racist?

We know these forms of protests from Europe. While I do generally agree with their goals, I think pissing of the masses is the wrong form of protests. It hasn't achieved anything in our countries yet.

Also, in some cases, their actions had severe consequences. There were cases where the traffic jam, that's caused by the protesters, prevented ambulances to fulfill their duties and people died because of that.

I just think they should pursue alternative forms of protests and engage themselves politically.

The civil rights movement was a huge, multilayered, well organized organization that was supported by much of the population for years before they moved to direct action. You can't just skip laying all the groundwork and head straight to the barricades and expect the same result.

But people don't say "It's okay to inconvenience the public as long as you laid the groundwork and worked hard at hearts and minds for years". They say "If you screw with people's days, then you're a piece of shit and everyone will turn against your cause!"

Again, not that it matters because people clearly are not for a cause if seeing some protesters block a road somewhere makes them go "I'm not going to agree with the side that has some protesters holding up traffic!"

I could get physically assaulted by a group of gamers and I wouldn't stop playing video games.

Though the negative effects of climate change aren't an opinion like liking video games, so maybe it's more like turning to alternative medicine because you saw a group of nurses burn a cop car.

For a protest about climate change to work, you unfortunately need to be more organized and need the numbers of people on hand.

Small groups tend to be ignored and villainized easier when they do the above like blocking the roads.
But if there was a lot of people doing the same, THEN the message gets out better, along with showing that there is indeed enough people that DO care.

Sad part is, most people in the country don't seem to care or even think climate change is a big issue....until they're hit by a gigantic-ass storm event.

The primary difference is the amount of people who agree with your cause in relation to how much you're disrupting society. It's not that the act itself is "okay" to inconvenience the public, but that a significant portion of said public agrees with said act occurring.

A popular protest of thousands obviously has more legitimacy than five people doing... whatever this is.
