One of the developers of Battle Brothers has written two expanded lore novels set in the Battle Brothers universe I just picked up. The Witch Hunter and The Captain. They look like quick and simple reads.

Just finished For Whom The Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway. Really good read. So the one I am on currently is Who Censored Roger Rabbit by Gary K. Wolf. Inspired the Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie.

Also been reading religious books on the side. Not religious myself, but I always enjoy mythology.

I'm listening to an audio book of Catch-22 by Joseph Heller and working my way through the 7th Dresden Files book. The first is proving much more enjoyable than the latter.

I got Fat Joe's autobiography for Christmas last year. Think I might actually crack it open soon.

Chugging though James Herriot.
Helen Alerderson (Al Wright's actual wife) is a a throwaway chapter in book 2. The BBC show did it in series one.

The First Law series again, almost to book 2 of trilogy 1.

How do you guys listen to your audio books?

Istarted with checking the physical copies out at my local library and just listening in the car on my commute and between job sites, then got into audible and libby. Now I just use audible exclusively, I've got a pretty good size collection on there now.

I read several of the "Essais" for a lit course in college. I remember thinking that many of his observations were pretty spot on despite him having been a French nobleman who lived 400 years before I was born.

That's probably good advice. When I started Colour of Magic, my friend told me I made a mistake because the wizard series is not as good as the city watch and death series. I wanted to start with the first one in the series though.

I agree with your friend that the City Watch books are better than the first ones, but a lot of people prefer to start at the beginning

I recently saw a recommendation for a book series that was really interesting but I have no idea what it was. I don't remember if it was in the other reading topic, Reddit, or elsewhere and haven't been able to find it. I don't even remember the genre lmao. I think it might have been sci-fi and I think it was from the last 10 years but I've been looking through all kinds of lists for a half hour now and nothing has jogged my memory.

I wanted to read today and figured I would start with that but now I'm fixated on finding it instead.

Currently reading Clive Barker's Books of Blood Volumes 1-3. Favorite story in that so far is probably In the Hills, the Cities.
