DUI check points are a lot of a work. Cops are not known to do extra hard work for no reason. I once had a cop tell me a can of soda in my car smelled like "dope". I'd gotten pulled over (literally in my driveway, on the way back from getting fast food) because my license plate light was out. He didn't search the car or anything but for whatever reason asked if he could smell that can. When I told him no, it didn't, he just said it did again but that was kinda it. Just got a warning about the license plate light. Kinda weird in hindsight.
