I'm unable to dispute the topic closure as it's not a formal moderation so I create a new topic in an attempt to contest the decision.

I reason the fact that I only posted once before thus should be granted an opportunity to respond. The board is slow moving and the discussion moved towards the end (oldest) of my post history. Actual disruption would be multiple thread bumps and/or unrelated discussion. This website systematically closes/deletes topics if no one posts so mod interference is unnecessary.

No further action by the moderation team.

This is the second topic that TC has made complaining about this incident, that I know of.

Necrobumping is a no no.

You did the same thing in CE by creating topics and bumping it right before it purged.
I'm pretty sure the mods here locked those topics too.

1) Because life happened. Doesn't help that slow moving boards help topics fly under the radar

2) That's a good question. I figured the topic lock reason was "disruptive posting" but no moderator has addressed this issue.

3) Because I believe the topic had potential for good discussion and poll data.

If you were repeatedly bumping the same topic or just mass-bumping old topics fair, but this is specifically a site where topics get purged / closed after a while, so I don't see why it's such a big deal to make a meaningful post in an older topic.

To be fair, he has a point. If the topic is still open, it should be fair to post in it. The site already auto closes topics after a certain point of inactivity. If his posting timeframe is an issue, then the topics should auto close sooner.

Necrobumping your own topic to complain about the mods slapping you on the wrist for necrobumping your own topic.

I dont understand the inconsistency. Ive seen some users get away with mass bumping their own days-old topics (typically with dumbass posts too that dont even add to the conversation) and nothing is done, but then other users get modded.

the post wasnt even just a bump, it was a response to posts

if they didnt want people to respond to a topic that old they should be archived sooner

If anything, that makes it more ok. People may have thoughts later on on the subject.

It would be one thing if TC was mass-bumping like three or four topics every day and posting something like yeah on a hundred different accounts.
