Because he committed the crime in question. Pressuring government officials into fabricating votes to change the outcome of an election is bad.

Trump isn't ever going to wind up in jail - it would be a logistical nightmare to try and work that out.

Hell, that's one of the considerations that is being talked through right now - if Trump is convicted, how the hell does prison work? The Secret Service still needs to be able to protect him, which is almost impossible in a conventional prison. He could be sentenced to house arrest, but that hardly seems like a punishment commensurate with the crimes he's committed.

Turns out the justice system never thought it would have to figure out how to accommodate a felonious ex-president.
It wouldn't be at all.

You'd need only 1 SS member with him, since, as noted, SS are only there to prevent him from being captured or killed by someone - pretty hard to do in a prison. Which, it should be obvious, he'd definitely not be allowed in general pop., but there's plenty of white collar prisons/sections/military prisons he could be jailed in. And that's it. There's no real logistical need or consideration beyond that, he'd be treated like every other criminal behind bars, save for maybe SS members having to stick by him (which they have to do ANYWAYS). The only concern would be him blabbing state secrets while behind bars, but there's nothing stopping ex-Presidents from doing that as-is.

The REAL question is, could be a sitting President while in prison? There's nothing in the Constitution to stop this, as the Founders would never have envisioned this happening. Experts say yes, technically, but also no, since it would be impossible to do his job. It's a question that likely will never be tested (Trump has very little chance of winning re-election, and suits and motions are happening RIGHT NOW to disqualify him from even running, per the 14th), but it's an example of a flaw in the Constitution.

idk what her sentence would be, but if its the rest of her life and she has the money.... why wouldn't she go Not Guilty? Could probably litigate and arbitrate for 20 years without ever seeing prison

With a plea deal she could have sworn under oath about what Trump did, and screwed him over.

I would personally consider that to be a waste of 20 years.

Isn't that an extremely common opinion of the US justice system? Endless litigation?
