Im Liking Young Sheldon. Missy is hillarious and reminds me of Penny and their relationship in the future.

This feels like Malom in the Middle and The Middle.

Sheldon is probably a better show than bb actually

yea i did enjoy 3-4 but then just got bored quickly. i still have fond memories of the episode where leonard raj and the other non-sheldon guy went camping and got stoned though. there were a few good bits here and there but it ran its course

Yeah it's actually unfortunate it's tied to that cringy ass mess, I like to imagine tbbt never exists and ys just exists as an original show

I'll never get how this became a thing. I've always hated the highly intelligent kid trope. Every single time that little shit Franklin appeared on screen on My Wife And Kids I just wanted to punt him straight back to his house.

Isnt that kind of realistic though? Kids rarely have accurate memories of childhood. The real story is always more complex.

I have a weird relationship with TBBT... I started watching it from at the start before any of the hype or backlash could influence my view on it.

The thing is... the first few seasons the core male cast members are great, but as the seasons go on they "Flanderize" (become one-note stereotypes) like Sheldon getting more OCD, Howard getting more mean spirited, Raj being totally defined by his shyness and effeminate tastes... which normally would have sunk the show for me.

However, the new female cast members and their relationship to Penny made the later seasons more interesting, especially Amy as the sympathetic female nerd - more or less with the temperament of early season Sheldon before he became completely insufferable.

why would you do this to yourself?? I'd rather have my foot stuck in a bear trap than watch the big bang theory, let alone young sheldon

I weirdly like bbt. I haven't found the appeal that people have for young Sheldon, its super annoying and like an even worse version of mitm/the middle etc

I see Young Sheldon as set in different universe than BBT. Sheldon in Young Sheldon would never grow into BBT Sheldon. In Young Sheldon he is already more mature than he supposedly becomes as an adult in BBT

I like it because it's set just after when I grew up. Missy and Sheldon remind me of me and my sister. Kinda close but a little back and forth like we had growing up. I know he puts her down for not being as smart (I never did that. We were kinda equal) She's got him a few times.

On s2 on YS and yeh already feeling like this isnt the Sheldon from TBBT really. He is way too developed, but Im liking the other characters so I wanna follow them. Dr Sturgis is weird, its like Sheldon invented a time machine went back in time to bang his Meemaw

Young Sheldon is a surprisingly solid show. It's like Malcolm in the Middle but Malcolm is really Sheldon. It's way different than TBBT. if the show came out, but the characters names were different so there was no obvious connection to TBBT then you wouldn't even notice any similarity at all between the two shows.

i watched all of big bang theory and the first few seasons of young sheldon before i quit. it was fine. like a worse version of malcolm in the middle. pretty sure shortly after i quit i ended up rewatching malcolm in the middle again instead.

There should be a future Sheldon show. A sci-fi show where Sheldon has opened up the multiverse and he has made his league of super-powered kids.

Lol, Dong Lover is great, I enjoy his acting, stand-up, and music, though I didn't remember this bit.

He has a point with the things he listed, however Urkel literally built a robot that gained sentience and rebelled against its creator. The only thing nerdier than that is Weird Science where they create a fuckbot.

Btw gotta say when I was binging TBBT I could not believe how many episodes Ive already seen or partially seen despite never activily choosing to watch them.

On S4 of Young Sheldon. Its declining in quality but I cant stop now. Felt like TBBT had more character development this far.

On s5. Gotta say the actress for Missy is goving me Juliette Lewis vibes as she is getting older.

TBBT was solid for what it is, just unfortunate that it needs the laugh track.

On s6 now. I like the family drama but some things are just out ofnplace like Sheldon coming up with crypto currency, however Im gonna start treating this as an unreliable narrator (Sheldon) thinking he was so insanly smart and head of his time since that fits view of himself.
