Unless it's an old world tarantula, the bigger spiders are usually less harmful than a lot of the smaller ones anyway.

I shouldnt have stepped out but I didnt have anything to take him out with. Definitely not a shoe because I was not trying to get that close to him.

True, but he still looked like a creature out of a Lovecraft novel.

Maybe it was a big horse spider. Those legs were pretty big.

When they get away, I just remember that there will be a next time. Maybe it won't be the same one but you see one pest and you know it's a legion.

But they ARE pests. I can keep the place clear of pests without relying on more pests. Webbing is filthy.

Spiders are more afraid of you than you are of them. Just keep your room clean and shuffle things once in a while. Spiders don't like busy places.

The Recluse earned its name by rarely being seen. It tries to live where there are as few people as possible.

^yeah, I'm sure there are exceptions but generally speaking, if they're in your house, they'll be in place that's not often disturbed, like an attic, basement, or utility shed

just have to be a bit vigilant when going into those places and shuffling through papers and boxes

I know theyre harmless but I really cant stand how often spiders get near me. More often than not, Ive had so many spiders climb onto me and just chill on my arms or legs. Woke up with one on my face one time.

A few weeks ago, I was getting dressed and happened to look down to see a spider on my chest making a beeline for my face.

Resident_Hill posted...

Yeah, a few nights now. Were heading into night 3 and the spider is still hiding somewhere. If it pops up, I might not even bother taking him out. Ill just catch it and put it in the basement. It can eat the centipedes.

It is.

You're more likely to encounter them in the woods (they love logs and leaves) but they will (and do) make webs in houses as well, though as I mentioned above, they usually avoid humans and most bites occur when they're accidentally caught in clothing, laundry, shoes, etc. They're not aggressive in the slightest but if they're threatened (like if pressed beneath the sheet or pillowcase of a sleeping person) then yeah, it might suck a bit.
