Are they degenerately smart?

Before AI took off. I was planning on trying to be a furry artist to make extra money. Because while I don't know first hand, some of "art" is not well done and people are still getting paid big bucks for it. However too to long to learn how to do it. People don't need dudes like my to draw their smut that can get AI to do it.

what does that adjective mean

I've heard that the suits are really expensive, so maybe you can't be a furry in the first place without significant disposable income?

(Or serious sewing skills, in which case I guess you'd get rich selling fur suits.)

If anything nows a better time then any, the furry community is very art driven and so, naturally a large portion are rabidly anti-ai. Plus the ai companies are slowly going broke, so that fad is dying out anyways.

First, not all furries can afford such things, perhaps you are failing to recognize them as furries without those visible cues? Second, those who have a lot of money can splash out on these things more lavishly, and be more visible as a result. Lastly, even people with modest incomes can afford them if that's the hobby they choose to devote money to.

Probably a combination of not spending as much money on other things and neurodivergent people do tending to have skills that are useful in the working sphere.

Maybe something about being rich, makes you inclined to become a furry

yea i think you can still make a career of it, honestly.

buying art and commissioning becomes part of it for them

they might like the "bad" aesthetic in the same way an aficionado can appreciate anything

also they probably get a thrill from another human spending so much time on their fantasies

so really, i don't think AI will hurt the furry art side hustle community

All of the ones I listed there have been investing billions into it for years. Most of the recent advancements in machine learning comes from Google inventing transformers. And OpenAI got as big as it did in part thanks to Microsoft's investment.

It's a dirty business, but it pays.

A good amount of furries have good paying jobs and many work in IT. I know some who are airline pilots (as Im in the furry aviation sphere). The furry fandom is definitely a very art based and requires spend a decent amount of money bring your ideas to life through art or fursuits (if youre not an artist yourself).

I have spent more money than I should have on furry art. Im not into fursuits, but some are cute and so expensive.

Because nuts are currency!!!

You've been thinking about it a long time, because I've had you tagged as "furry" for years now. No idea what you said that earned the actual tag, but this isn't the first time you've reinforced it.

I assume that it's either just a minority of them splashing a lot of money around, or maybe being a furry ends up as a good way to make connections? Like a very secretive group of relatively well off people that help out their own as much as they can.

As an artist I've always been tempted to start drawing furry stuff to start making some money off it. But if I did, I'd have to not only look at it to be able to draw it, but also probably tell some of the people closest to me that I do. I'm not sure it's worth it. >.>

Could it just be that the culture is more open and accepting of sexualised content, which in turn makes it less stigmatised to spend money on these things? Theres no doubt many among them with some level of disposable income. It could just be that they dispose it on furry porn
