I feel ridiculously old right now. That's nearly 2/3 of my life.

It is so funny, I was thinking about this the other day. How our steam accounts are getting old. Can you still play the oldest games that you have?

Apparently, I jumped onto Steam in 2013 in order to finally access these mods I heard so much about for Fallout: New Vegas. I have a feeling some sort of sale on the game also factored into it.

I have a day 1 account since my main game online was the Half-Life mod Natural Selection when they changed everything over and launched Steam.

So many people hated it at first. I didn't start buying any games on it until 2008. After about 5 years it looked like it was going to be sticking around instead of just a fad.

I'm actually very surprised Steam has been around since 2003. Feels like I only ever became aware of its existence in like the early 2010s.

A ton of older Steam games won't work on Windows 10/11.

Yeah I wonder how much longer Steam is gonna be around. If it's for another 20+ years and if I have a family, that family share is gonna be p lit with 2k+ games (most of them being Humble Bundle junk)

I thought it was outrageous that you needed a steam account to play HL2 at the time

how times have changed

IF I ever have a family, they are going to be hit with some odd match 3 games.

Im not a PC person but I did get an old jrpg on steam and had a chance to check it out. Very good system for gaming.
I wish steam the best and that it grows and becomes even better. The people behind it had a great idea

Gaming is a weird industry where you can scam the consumers with lies and fake promises, and there will still be fanboys defending it.

I didn't get into Steam until 2013 after I built my first PC. Before that the only thing I knew about PC gaming was Civ 3.
