I replayed the Zelda Oracle games which kept me busy for like a week. But now I can't decide what to play next. Ideally I'd want something I've played before.

I can't decide what to replay now. I finally got a new PS4 controller after my other two broke like a year ago. Skyrim and MGSV are calling me.

I also got a new 8bitdo controller, the Pro 2. My Pro+ controller stopped working wirelessly during my Oracle playthrough. I don't like the Pro 2 as much, the buttons on the back of the controller are so easy to accidentally push that they're useless. That said, I could replay any NES/SNES/GB games very comfortably with that baddie.

Another few things calling me though are Super Mario Odyssey and Paper Mario: TTYD.

Yeah I've actually already played all the games I mentioned, new games feel like too much commitment for me. I started The Witcher 3 a few years ago and quit after like 2 hours, it's like my mind needs to know in advance that I'm going to enjoy a game for me to even start playing it.

I beat the main Ground Zeroes mission without even getting spotted once (not bad for having not played MGS in years, age hasn't slowed me down one bit). As for Phantom Pain, I just cleared the "Honey Bee" mission. I got my first game over right at the end of that mission, I tried to run away from the Skulls instead of fighting them with the Honey Bee, turned out that was a bad idea and they caught up to me and kicked my ass.

I've always loved this game, but the near silent protagonist route they went with Snake is super weird. I feel like it was a consequence of hiring Kiefer Sutherland (which I bet cost a LOT) instead of David Hayter, which if that's the case, they absolutely wasted their money.

I agree, I prefer David for snakes VA

I didnt mind Kiefer, but I wish they could have had Hayter do it instead

Yeah Kiefer did great, but Hayter was fine and at least he actually had lines.

The extra gruff voice they made him do in Peace Walker definitely wasn't great (Hayter has made it clear that it wasn't his choice to do that, he was directed to do that) but they could have scrapped that for MGSV. Apparently that was one of the factors for why they replaced him. Personally I think it was exclusively so Kojima could pretend he was a Hollywood director or something.

Also I just completed the mission where you encounter Quiet. Her design is pretty gross, it's so over the top that it's not even as sexy as Kojima was thinking it would be. I'm not even usually one to complain about stuff like that but her design is just ridiculous. I know you can unlock a few different outfits for her later and they're all an improvement, but they have a higher than necessary GMP cost given that they're purely cosmetic.

I always used the sniper wolf outfit for her, she looked the best in that

Hell yeah dude. The XOF one was pretty sweet too though.

I'm not making a huge amount of progress in MGSV (typically one mission and one or two side ops per day) but I'm super glad I chose to play it, man this game is incredibly fun. I find I'm way better at it than I remember myself being despite not playing it in years.

I start work again tomorrow but I'll probably be able to still play just as much as I have been. Most my free time lately has been spent enjoying the last bit of hot summer or grinding non AFK skills in Old School RuneScape.
