I'm generally talking drinking to get to the point of blacking out, spins and bad decisions may be inclusive, roughly 35+.

I'd say less pathetic, more worrisome. But different people deal with their traumas in different ways. As long as you don't say, drink and drive or pick fights while your wasted, it's your own business.

Once in a while is ok. Its good to have a good blow out once in a while.

Yeah I used to use that as an excuse to indulge in my 20s pretty much. "Get it out of my system"

I don't think people ever drink to blackout they just don't know when to stop or can't tell it's about to happen

but i hate being out in public with people who drink like that. Its embarrassing and now you have to make sure that person gets home safely without killing themselves or someone else.

My friend drinks like this and he always starts trying to kiss people says weird sexual shit to women.

if it happens like once a year or something it isn't a big deal but if you are regularly getting blackout drunk at any age it is a bad look

If thats your plan every time, then Id say its more of a problem than pathetic. If thats your plan rarely then nah thats not pathetic.

I wouldn't say pathetic, though I'd consider it ill-advised for any age. Not only is it a physical danger to you because you have no clue what's happening, but you could also do some outrageous shit you won't remember that will hurt your reputation, relationships, and possibly constitute criminal activity.

Some of us dont really have much else in life besides drinking. Though I do try to avoid reaching the blackout stage, as by that time its long since stopped being fun and Im starting to feel sick.

I try to reserve judgment only for people who clearly go too far and dont have a shred of remorse or decency.

Having been through the legal system and speaking to psychologists (and others in the same situation) really gives you new, educated, perspective on things - far ahead of people who get all their opinions from fiction and the media.

You learn that a persons mistakes arent everything there is to them. A person is a person with a backstory.

As a gen-x, I never did care.

It's always unhealthy, so there's that.
I think if the person doesn't harass other people and doesn't engage in activities that put others at risk like driving, it's their right. It may look pathetic to me, but if that's how the person needs to unwind, I'm no psychologist to suggest a better alternative.

My dad used to get blackout drunk every night. For years and years. I always used to resent him for it. It's why I don't really drink.
