I've never seen a real life Creationist.

I think Satan invented them to cause confusion in the hearts of men.

Were they creationist-leaning though? The theme seems to be that creation isnt a toy, not that only God is allowed to do it. The other theme is that capitalist cost cutting is a bad idea.

OHHHH I misunderstood, sorry. That sentence can be interpreted as they referring to either the viewers or the movies, and I picked wrong.

No, I live in the UK.

There is a tiny number of Creationists, but they're on the fringe, even of their own religions, and you never hear a peep out of them.

It also isnt something many people talk about in public without a specific trigger. Ive spoken with nearly 20 different people today, most of them regular acquaintances, and I dont know what any of their religious leanings are. It just doesnt come up.

It's a little bit complicated, because of some of the traditions and ceremonial functions: the Head of State is also head of the Church of England, and Bishops sit in the House of Lords.

But the UK is in practice a very secular country. People are a bit suspicious of those who are overtly religious. Generally, religion is kept out of politics.

Famously, Tony Blair had to downplay his religious beliefs, because they would not play well with the public. We've had atheist Prime Ministers (James Callaghan, Winston Churchill), agnostic Prime Ministers (Attlee), and Boris Johnson is on record as saying he is not a 'serious Christian'. Basically, not believing in God would have no effect on a political career in the UK.

The abortion debate is considered settled. No mainstream politician wants it revisited.

Blair got told by his press guy/spin doctor Alastair Campbell, that 'we don't do religion'.

Thatcher was Christian. Sometimes she would mention her 'values' etc. In speeches, but not all the time. Being openly religious is not appreciated by the public, and is likely to be mocked, more than anything else.

Less than half say they are religious, but even that statistic is misleading, as Church of England is like a 'default' religion, and people who never even think about it will just say they are C of E. Less than 1% of the population go to church (it's around 30% in the US). And a third of those are over 70.

The presence of Christianity in daily life and culture is negligible and diminishing.

Wow a lot I didn't know (Churchill being atheist) - it's interesting that V for Vendetta (which I know is fiction) heavily emphasized Christianity as one of the pillars of the autocratic government

My first sis-in-law was a creationist; I remember she persuaded us to read the book Bone of Contention: Is Evolution True? by Sylvia Baker. Her father was a Baptist minister, and she'd grown up in Nigeria; but then so had wifey, who poured, um, some considerable scorn on my sis-in-law's beliefs. Somewhat incongruously, my sis-in-law was studying at uni for a career in the sciences...

The organizations at least - but sorry my point was that the movie illustrated religion/Christianity being popular enough in the UK for the autocratic government to use it as a tool build power
