Also bought a 2TB SSD for it since it has two slots. Considering upgrading it to 32GB RAM too but waiting til it gets here so I can see if the 16 it has is on one stick or two 8s.

Excited for it to get here. Price seemed reasonable for the specs, spent most of yesterday doing comparisons and god now I understand why people go with consoles, so many damn options with PCs.

That's only a problem for Laptops

Desktop PCs are simpler and vastly cheaper

Personally I wouldn't spend that much just for a 4060 that will struggle with the machine's native refresh rate

Theres still a ton of options for desktops but yeah those are a bit easier since you can easily upgrade them.

I do have a desktop as well, just wanted a decent laptop so I can play everywhere instead of being restricted to my basement office.

Desktop has a Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 5700XT, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB SSD and 2TB HDD. Got it for about the same price as this laptop back in 2020.

you can just walk in to walmart and buy the worst desktop off the shelf and it will still be cheaper and higher performing than a console, so long as you buy more than 1 game a year or so. laptops are a bit different since you are paying for portability

The absolute worst part of getting a new computer: installing all your games again.

This thing is super nice, feels very sturdy and well made and the 17.3 1440p screen is fucking beautiful. Ive always been a 1080p guy til now. Cant wait to actually test out some games on it.

Think Ill hold off on upgrading the RAM, 16GB is probably still enough for awhile.

laptop 4060's are different than PC 4060's. As a general rule, step it down be 1 on the product stack to compare apples to apples. The reason for this is the power & heat constraints of a laptop

With gaming laptops I'm worried about not having a 3 year warranty. Pretty much every one I've owned has had a major break about 2 years in and they all would've been a pretty penny without the warranties.
