And every one of them never happened.

First two never answered the phone (first guy didn't know he had an interview and then when he called back said he was expecting a call for a welding job we're a government contractor IT support team and the second guy gave a phone number that was for an old employer) and then the third was an in-person thing where the candidate got sick and asked to reschedule.

@_@ The main reason I was asked to participate was because I wanted to make use of my new job title and promotion and asked if I could be involved in the candidate screening process...

I'm old, and I rememeber when i was a kid when my dad was hiring people and candidates didn't know how to use a fax machine

Sounds like some of the interviews I've done. We had one where after I asked the first interview question the lady just started bawling saying she didn't know what she was getting into and this wasn't right for her. LEGIT TEARS. The rest of the interview was us consoling her. Luckily it was a zoom interview, because it would have been even more awkward in person.

damn lol I thought I was awkward in interviews but this is a whole nother story
